Building a New Computer

So, my dad said he can get me an Asus 890GX mobo. And I need some help from you! I don't really know the first thing to building a computer... Except be careful . What I need to know is, what kind of the following features, or much of them, do I need. So, here's my list.

1. Memory
2. Graphics Card
3. DVD Drives
4. Chasis
5. Power Supply

I'm not sure what else I need, other than a tower. What I'm hoping for is for you guys to help me figure out what parts I need to build my computer, I don't have a budget.. Just don't get me something that's a 150 grand. Atleast put it in a reasonable price range, my dad's getting the parts for free and I don't want to be milking the guy. Thanks everyone.

More than 4GB is overkill for memory,
The graphics card depends on your resolution, but the GTX 460's are kick-ass.
DVD drives. depends on how much you use them, I only need 1.
Chassis depends on what you like
Power supply has to be a reputable brand that has reliable products, such as SeaSonic, Silverstone, Antec, Corsair, etc. Most of them use SeaSonic OEM's for their powersupplies, anyway.

I can post a build later, if you want.
Just give me a solid budget.

I'm getting the parts for free. :p, and my resolution is going to be 1680x1050 or 24". Not sure which one I'll get yet. Idk anything about a Chassis either. And it'd be nice if you would post a build, thanks.

POST A BUDGET.
Christ. Saying you have no budget, why get a 890GX? Why not an SR-2 with dual xeon six cores, Corsair AX1200, 24gb DDR3 2400MHz ram, 2 x Intel X-25 160GB SSDs in RAID 0, quad SLI 480s, etc.
So post a budget. Don't just say "it's free, so there is no budget, but keep it reasonable".
What is your idea of reasonable?

Where does your dad work?
Is he getting it from their stock/supply, or is his company buying it for him?

+1

This whole topic doesn't make too much sense... Is he getting NEW parts, or is he getting parts from decommissioned work towers/surplus parts???

NEW parts, and he works at Seagate.

Okay, so you've got a $2k cap and already have the mobo as a base. Now we can get somewhere.

Damn, if he doesn't have a price tag then build him an epic gaming computer with liquid cooling.

This is OK build, but i would:

1) get a Seasonic X750. I is WAY better than the antec, and will power 2 480s just fine

2) DONT GET ANTEC 900 (insert Ph?bus rant here)

3) CM v8 cooler is meh. Thermalright VenX or Megahalems would be better
