The site is owned by Experian and only pulls credit reports from their service. It's not a scam per-say, but it is basically bait and switch. The FTC went all medieval on the butts a while back, but it did nothing...all they did was change the sites name.
Now if you actually want to get your credit score. In 2003 the US congress passed the Fair and Accurate Credit Transactions Act. Basically stating the people have a right a free yearly credit report. There was a site setup by the three main credit agencies, Equifax, Experian, TransUnionm and of course the FTC. The site gives you that yearly free credit report. I'm not going to like the site directly at the risk of being called out for site advertising or whatever. So I'm just going to link you the FTC so they can tell you to go there.
