For Those Who Can Not Rocket Jump, Look Here!

Hey everyone, from the last two rocket jump events that have been held, I have seen that there were quite a bit of people having trouble rocketjumping, whether it is getting up on a simple ledge, chaining rockets together to get much further up, or strafing around corners to land in a hole. If you are one of these people, I would gladly like to help some if not all of you learn the basics, and the advanced parts of rocket jumping. It is actually quite simple once you get the hang of it, so post here if you would like some help, and we can arrange something at the time of your choosing. Thanks

Just so you know these events are very usefull I am already skilled with rocketjumping (fortunately) but ive seen people get pro after one session so dont be scared to go.

Yes, and hey, maybe some of you that dont rocketjump often may find it fun, and the better you get at it, the more maps you can start to play, there is more to TF2 than just killing people and capturing flags!

oh this would have been helpful earlier.
it took about 15 minutes for me to get past the 1st level, and then on the 2nd one i got to the ledge and couldn't get any further.

I can rocket jump, but every so often just can't seem to get anywhere. I think it's erratic ping and compensation.

For whatever the hell reason, getting up on the ledge in the map room (going up to the "crab room") seems to cause mayhem, as well as getting up through the grate in 2fort.
The grate makes sense - I'm just missing. The ledge - no idea.

So, let me know if you have more pointers.

There are some videos on youtube that are okay. Really the biggest thing you have to realize is that maximum distance is achieved by hitting jump crouch and shoot all at the exact same time. Start small by just facing a wall and looking down and mashing forward. It just takes a little bit of practice but once you get the first jumps comfortable everything else will fall in to place.
