Am I the only one getting the message steam beta must be running? when trying to get to any servers?

Restarting the game or steam usually solves this. Or just connecting manually

Try deleting clientinfo.blob in your main steam folder and restarting steam.

Have you verified your cache, etc? And are you currently running the BETA or regular Steam client?

i switched it to beta participation, now it loads but only downloads to 26% then ever moves no matter how long I have it on restarted steam and deleted clientinfo no go now its stuck and I cant play! WHAAAAAA!!!!!

This is one way. What I did was I just kept restarting steam, going into CS:S, going to Multiplayer Menu, to Advanced, and clicking "Synchronize Steam Cloud". One the 4th time, it updated steam and got the games back up and running. Try that and see if it works.

never had this problem, but I'd try deleting your .blob or syncing like mayhem said. Someone once said madness is expecting a diff result from trying the same thing, but that seems to be less and less applicable nowadays :glare:

Anyways, this happened to me once, and that was because either the servers or my game were not updated. Try checking for updates, you may have an older version.

Yeah, I had this before and I had to re-install. After I did it though, I wasn't recieving the message anymore and my games were working.

Um, I don't really know what to say but it might be an issue within your steam folder, have you tried contacting valve/steam corp. about it?
