Friend Building a Computer

Ok, so my friend has around 800 dollars to build a new computer. He wanted to just buy an already built one but I convinced him to build one instead. I just need someone to post a pretty good build.

Thanks.

1a. [strike]What is the budget?[/strike]
1b. Does his state tax newegg purchases? If so, give area code.
2. Main purpose of the computer?
3. Is he going to overclock?
4. What all is needed?
5. What does he find important in a case?

Sorry, those are my default questions.

Sorry I havn't gotten back, been playing Gears.. But!

1a. 800 dollars
2b. Not sure if Colorado does, 80528 if it does.
3. Yes he's going to OC it
4. Everything except a monitor, keyboard, and mouse.
5. He's primarily going to be using it to game.... I hope that answers that question. :p

4. Does that include speakers? If it's just the tower, then say, just the tower. Does it include the OS? You have to be specific.
5. So flashy case? Do you know what case(s) he like(s)?

4. Yes it includes speakers as well. He needs to buy the OS as well, and the Tower.
5. I have no idea what case he likes, he told me he just wants something that works.

You should convince him to raise it to $900, I could of fit in a Phenom II x4 and a 5770.

My suggested build, the speakers are probably bad, I don't shop speakers personally, but speakers also aren't a huge deal in my opinion. Also, its a little bit over $800 but 800 is a hard price to fit in especially if he gets a legit OS and whatnot.

push it to a 5770 and he will be happy, worth the extra, the rig above is a good deal for the price including the OS, a 5770 will handle most games fine, i use my 5770 at 1920 x 1080 all day long on my Q9400 @ 3Ghz, so they should be good.
