Anyone willing to try this mod out? ( FireArms: Source Mod)

It's pretty good. Some tweaks still have to be made, but overall, as a first release it is quite good. I'd recomend it.

Oh wow...this thing finally came out. Wasn't there a whole heap load of legal problems surrounding this mod. Like the original creators didn't want it to be made or something?

Ive had it since yesterday, its pretty good for a free mod, kinda like CS:S and INS mixed

That I don't know. Anyways from what I have played it's a really good Mod. I think once everyone gets used to the gameplay it will be enjoyable. The games I played was just chaos.

Wow when was firearms source announced? I had firearms on my half life goty disc lol. Of course I never played with anyone, but it looked fun. I'll try this out

Um, it's good, and I never played the original, but I don't see how it would make me want to play it and not any other shooter. I couldn't find myself having fun.

Nah it was an issue between the devs and the community. Its pretty heavy crap though.

In 2005 the Fire Arms team announced that Firearms would no longer be developed. In the announcement the team stated that they where going to move on to create World at War for the Source engine. Some fans of FA protested the move, and requested that they be allowed to develop a sequel to FA, however the FA team remained adamant that World at War be the only successor. A few months after the announcement, some disgruntled fans including a forum moderator locked the FA team out of their forums and web servers which contained all the source material for FA. After hijacking the servers, the fans announced that Firearms had never lived up to its potential[4], and that they would be developing Firearms 2 for the source engine. The original FA team fought the action, but failed[5]. Firearms 2 has now ceased to be developed.

In 2005 Firearms: Revival began development for the Source engine. After discussion with the original FA team, the FA team lent their support to this successor on the condition that the name be changed to Fireteam: Incursion . Later in 2006 the development of Firearms: Source was announced with the blessing of the original FA team. The Fireteam: Incursion and the Firearms: Source team combined forces in 2007 to develop Firearms: Source[6].

Anyway, its like a combo between CSS and DOD without exaggerated recoil. Its pretty good, makes me want to delete CSS.

CSS has no recoil just spread... DoDs "exaggerated" is not really exaggerated at all... The Thompson has a good kick in real life...

i couldn't get into the game. Not even 5 minutes into the game i left. Maybe i was expecting this game to be more realistic than what it really is....

I have it and I like it. It's kinda on an rpg system with level ups that are contained within the map instance.

Players with mics in this mod all sound like elitists who hate you if you don't like the game. They like to call everyone children too.

I played this mod for two hours. My honest impressions are its pretty bad. It is playable but feels a lot like Combat Arms if anyone has played that.

The game just needs something. It gets rather repetative, but my biggest gripe is the menu system. The menu's need A LOT of work. The one where you pick your weapons is just horribly laid out. But overall a playable game.

Remember, it is only the first release. A ton of work has gone into this mod over a very long time. They plan to make updates about every month or so to improve the game and add on new features. I personally think it is okay rather then just plain bad, but I agree with most of your points about the menus, and yes, it does need something.
