Links:
Case
HDD
Motherboard
PSU
Thermal Compound
RAM
Heatsink
CPU and OS

Get that, then add a 5770 when you have money,
or just save up for a little more, until you have ~$600-700.

thanks phobus since ill be providing the OS we will be able to take off $100 so theres some savings there

Well............With the cash your saving if you go with Ph?bus suggested build, since you said your budget was $600 you could stretch it a little more and get a 5770 for $180 or less. that would make for a decent gaming PC. Good luck.

In all honesty Phobus, I think this thread should be stickied AND closed. Eventually you will have so many requests, there will be infinite amount of pages :/ Keep it PM'ed :D

Oh and start doing monthly builds, like Tom's, but obviously not overkill on prices.

That's a good idea. Hm. Well, I'd like to make a new one, and get that stickied/closed,
Then update it once a month or if new hardware comes out within that timeframe, put up a bunch of builds for more than 3 price points. Like $500, $600, $700, $800, all the way up to $1500. And if there is any special requests, they could PM me. Even though they would, anyway.

And for the record, Tom's is a lousy site to get hardware reviews/advice/anything from. At least in my opinion and quite a few others. I mean sure, there may be some awesome people in the forum, but the actual site itself kinda sucks.

I'd just have to talk to a mod about it.

I would personally agree, the articles don't teach you much at all in my opinion unless you already understand almost all its talking about, and then only maybe, though the forums is where you would find the most help, as Phobus said.

Also, I want to ask, is there a specific cooler you recommend I get if I want to overclock. Money is not a HUGE issue but I mean I don't want to blow $200 on this thing. I run the specs that are in the bottom right there with a CM690 II case and a Corsair 650w PSU. Thanks in advance. Multiple recommendations would be great.

Corsair Hydro Series H50
Corsair Air Series A50/A70
Cooler Master Hyper 212+
Xigmatek XDT (or something).

Corsair Hydro Series H50( WAIT FOR THE H70 it is comming in AUG., Also inorder to make your H50 not suck, you need 2 good fans for it such as Gentletyphoons)
Corsair Air Series A50/A70
Cooler Master Hyper 212+
Xigmatek XDT (or something)
Noctua D14
Thermalright VenemousX
Thermalright TRUE120
Prolimatech Megahalems
etc,

.
added a few

I Kno this is 2 soon. So before i even go with the rules with my budget etc. I Wanna get parts for my main pc for Christmas. Will the deals be better towards Christmas, and will there be new parts better parts etc, or there's no difference to choose now then towards Christmas????

Pretty much I Want a New Insane Video Card, Powersupply to support it and my CPU, and a Case with Features and Neons lights and Fans add on to my asus home pc. Here is a link to what i got now, and it will let you kno what kind of motherboard i got and if the new case will fit my motherboard etc? My Budget is 450 for those 3 items, and my zip code is 11720. Using it for gaming to play BC2 on High settings and above 60FPS xD if possible. I Have a 9500GT in the computer now but only play low settings with 55+ FPS all the time, but the video card is old and i want something around a 200$ Video card!

The CM Hyper 212+ is only ~$30 anywhere besides newegg. Would you recommend this one in particular from the rest, why or why not. Also, with this one how high do you think a safe overclock would be.

Sure, but get some good fans, such as Cooler Master R4's (the 90CFM ones, not the 69CFM ones), or Gentle Typhoon's, and set them up in a push/pull config.
And you could easily OC to 4GHz with that.

Are you speaking of like those cheap $10 fans? I have 2 of those that came with my cm 690 II. Or do you mean another one, and do you mean add it or replace it.
