I recently downloaded the MP game and the day i downloaded i had a visible menu.

Then yesterday i started the game up and there was no visible menu
meaning everything worked. The sounds and links still work, i just cant
see the words.

i reinstalled the game already

No, he means FEAR 1. And when he plays it, it's a non-Steam game. So can't verify the cache.
It only happened when he changed the resolution.

I would just make sure to update your video card drivers. There is a correct way to do it, lemme copy and paste Phobus because I don't want to type it all haha.

Uninstall them first, though, and use Revo Uninstall, and then run Driver Sweeper in safe mode to clear out the remaining (if any) driver files.
Then get the latest drivers.

That's very odd. I'm guessing it is an issue with your computer, rather than the game itself.

What I would recommend is that you remove the game completely. As in... remove save game data, just wipe anything F.E.A.R. 1 related from your computer that comes from the Install.

If it was a Steam copy, I could say "Verify Cache Integrity" to fix any problems but as for D2D, I'm not too sure. I know you have reinstalled it, but try removing everything and then having a fresh install. I'm sure the game does come with the 1.08 implemented, if not then apply the patches for your region. Then launch the game, set your graphic options, play the game for a while, save and close. Reload your game and check if the issue is still coming up.

I'll do some more fishing around to find out about how to solve the problem if it does arise again.

Look forward to hearing from you shortly, thanks for your patience.

I've stumped the computer tech of this community, and the fearfans.com tech
my life is now complete lol

I dunno.
The only thing I could think of to do is to run it in Compatibility mode for XP SP 3.
I mean, you could try doing an Advanced Revouninstall-uninstall (lol), and completely, and I mean COMPLETELY wipe anything about it from your harddrive, then try again, but I don't think that will work.

Hm. You could try running it in a window? See if that does anything.

It sounds like a font issue with the game and and your computer. Can you post a pic of what it looks like?
