Nvidia Geforce GT 210

I've got a GT 220 that runs TF2 on medium-high with 90 FPS.

The 220 is terrible for gaming.

Get another 9800, they are really cheap now, and can be had for about the same price as the 220.

220=bad

The ATi Radeon 5670 is a good choice aswell.

EDIT: GT 240 is less powerful than the 9800, but it is way better than the 220

The 9800gt is a lot better. And it depends on your resolution.

I would recommend buying one on Ebay, if you trust it enough. (I've used it to buy PC parts for years, and never had a problem. Even the warranties were fine)

That's the classic 8800gt replica. I used it for almost 2 years and it worked amazing in every game.

Edit: The gt240 is almost identical to the 9600gt. Not really recommended.

I can only afford the 220/240, due to the mail-in rebate.

What's wrong With the 220 btw? It's worked well for me, I've had a good experience with it

just dont get the 220.

plz? for me? :crying:

I'll get the 240 instead. 9800 was really really [censored] awesome until it died out on me. If only I could revive it -goes mad scientist mode-

I can get the thing for 40 bucks with mail in rebate, which is the only reason it's an option for me.

BAKE IT!!!!!!!!!!

385f for 10 min I believe

MAKE IT LIVE AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!

and good choice with the 240. (I have one, and it is mucho beuno)

To repair your dead or half-dead video card (or motherboard) you could try baking it. This fixes micro-fissures, by remelting connections. And if you're skeptic about sticking it in an oven, you might want to know how manufacturing plants build electronics: "The machines apply solder paste, place all the parts on the board, and then the whole board goes through an oven to melt the solder and form the electrical connections. IF the oven isn't quite hot enough it can lead to premature failure. Stress or flexing of the boards can mess up solder joints as well."

*Note: Don't forget to clean the GPU from thermal compound/paste residues!
(You can find videos right here on youtube about how to do that.)
**Note: 200?C ≈ 390?F
***This isn't a guaranteed fix. Your card might be dead for a different reason and this won't fix your problem then.

Do it while they're home. Heck, it's worth the try.
