This is the eGO Code of Conduct, taken directly from the site.
After reading this, ask yourself: Do I express mature behaviour, and follow these rules? I hope the answer is yes.
It is disappointing to go to the CS:S contest ban forums, and see any eGO member have to contest a ban. It is even more disappointing to constantly see multiple (as much as, and sometimes) =(e)=™'s contesting bans on one page.
As a member of the community, you are held to a higher standard. A higher standard does not mean you are exempt to the rules. It means you are expected to uphold those rules, and never once have to be even warned or kicked.
When you applied to become part of eGO, you were asked:
12.) Do you agree to the rules listed in the "Start Here" thread? (Yes or No)
These are the same rules that are posted in the code of conduct, and you were expected to read them. If you did, you answered yes, thus agreeing that the rules apply to you, as they did with a pub. If you said no, your application was denied. There is also the note: READ and FOLLOW these simple rules in the server. Failure to do so WILL result in a kick or ban.
The most common infractions by our members are swearing, and disrespect (both to admins and players). A reminder, that as an e, you will not be warned for your infractions, but immediately kicked. If you are kicked for breaking a rule, do not come back and ask "why wasn't I warned?". You were warned of all rules when you agreed to the rules. Do not argue with admins, and do not swear at them, as that is perhaps one of the easiest ways to be escorted out of the server.
On a final note, I'm sure that most of you would like to get promoted to =(eG)=, and be able to administrate the servers yourselves. Well, being an advocate to our rules and displaying high levels of unwavering maturity are a good way to do this. Finding new and improved ways to break our rules and getting banned are not.
EDIT: I would also like to note that these are the official CoD rules, and although similar, are different than the code of conduct and should also be followed on all other divisions. Obviously, for rules 6 and 7, it means non-eGO.
Code:
EGO Server and Forum Code of Conduct
(Public Rules)
1. No foul, degrading, or racist remarks.
2. No inappropriate or disrespectful sprays or names.
* All sprays and avatar icons used on eGO servers should be PG-13 rated. No nudity is allowed. Final decisions on what is acceptable are left up to the admins in the server.
3. No cheating, cheat scripts, barrier jumping, map exploits or hacks of any kind.
4. No griefing.
5. No F10 or Alt-F4 jokes.
6. No advertising in servers.
7. No names or sprays that advocate or oppose a political figure, political stance, religion or nation.
8. No website URLs in names, sprays or avatars.
9. No impersonating admins.
10. No arguing with admins.
11. Do not disrupt the server in any way.
12. Do not pester admins.
13. Admins have final say in server.
=(e)=™'s are our first line of defense on the servers. There are a lot of you out there and we encourage you to help out your fellow clan members even if they are higher ranked. However, helping out doesn't necessarily mean warning people who break the rules or arguing with trouble-makers. If there is an admin in the server please leave all server situations to them. Feel free to use the admin chat command (u@) if you feel they may have missed something.
Admins have the ability to use Admin Chat to chat between other admins and also to warn players when needed. So, just because you don't see the admins responding to issues doesn't mean they are ignoring it. A lot happens behind the scenes on a server that the public and =(e)='s don't necessarily realize.
If you have any questions or concerns about our rules, a disagreement with one of our admins, or a situation in our servers then please contact an advisor via PM here on the website. You can find a list of advisors for each division on the leadership roster.
