New INS

I've been a tester for the current INS for years now. There will be no new versions of 2.x. Very long story behind this. But the original devs before 2.x are back and are getting 1.x ( the best version ) running on the orange box engine. But they need the communities support, feel free to head over to the forums and post your suggestions on what would make it better than it is now.

Thanks!

Though I really do have a sweet spot for insurgency, all this stupidity on wethere beta 3 will ever come out, and the crap with the development team, of with the new i guess "mod - of - a - mod" thing coming out.

I'm sick of it. INS is fine the way it is, fix the bugs and let it be dag'um it!

Beta 3 is not coming out. The current mod as is, is dead. As in not being currently worked on. The new one is the original version that was actually more stable and fun like I said, the 1.x ver. The new one is made by the original 2 that started INS and a few other current devs that are still around and care if it gets done.

Just thought I would put this picture here.

Thanks!

There will be no new versions of 2.x. Very long story behind this - kinda but not really long, the dev team after Jeremy did little, then Jeremy and his friend were told that if they dont pay 10,000 dollars EACH they would not get the mod, thats when Jeremy Blum and Andrew Spearin decided to head a new way, they are starting a new insurgency (AOR) for the Unreal engine, they also have a office space of some sort in Irvington, NY and was founded on June 1, 2010 by Jeremy Blum. and when (if at all) the classic will be re-released it isnt intended to be the next insurgency.

Classic is just to gather more people and build up hype while we wait for 2 years to get the new one, I have talked to Jeremy a lot and has terrific ideas

First, for the more pressing issue, why is everyone showing Bad Dude, and his thread such disrespect? He wears an O, and that alone should be more reason, than anything else, as to why he should be held credible and treated with respect.

Further, I suppose no one is willing to take a chance to help the community. It's a slim shot, I agree, but it's an opportunity nonetheless. It's no secret that the current development team has quit (we in leadership have said this in vent 43057579879878 times.) It's also common knowledge, that communities are cutting ties with the mod, and moving on, which I suspect is one reason as to why we had record recruiting numbers last month. Those communities which dropped out, left players behind for us to pick up. Finally, it was stated very clearly at this week's admin round table, that we are waiting for Insurgency: Classic to release, at which point all of our servers will switch over to that version of the game.

------------------------

If you haven't heard the story yet, well, what rock have you been hiding under?! But here is an abridged version.

The original development team, left after beta 1.xx was released. The current development team was left responsible for porting the mod to orange box which has obviously failed. The original team, came back into action this spring semester, and requested access to team files, etc., and were subsequently denied. The original team formed a petition. Jeremy stated that he had legal rights to use beta 1.xx because it was his property at the time of release, so he remains the legal owner of the code. He formed a new development team (with some of the original members) and began working on porting 1.xx to orange box. Around this time, Dr. Spielmann (current development team lead) posted his resignation, and Endless took his position. Endless then began to ban members all willy-nilly from the forums, and remove posts criticizing the current version. A few weeks after the petition was formed, it declared victory, and the teams entered negotiations. Months went by without much news when suddenly Jeremy posted on the, now closed, petition that Endless had the balls to ask for 10kUSD for each development team leader. And the roster held 24 members at that time. At this point, Jeremy realized that nothing really changed from 1.xx to 2.5 except for the addition of Karam, and some 203 changes, so he set up an official office for his new game development company. They are currently working on the concept of Insurgency: The Art of Revolution which is intended to be sold as a commercial game, and porting 1.xx to the orange box to create Insurgency: Classic.

+100 everyone read yetis post!

It's far too long to read! Someone sum up!!!!!

lol i began to read it but figured it was for my funny picture which wasn't meant to be anything much more than just to give people a laugh

But any who I spoke to a developer yesterday that was playing Ins classic and he said Ins classic is more than 6 months away from release to the public

Imo it's might take even longer because they have 2 fish to fry over there
1) They want to make a game for $
2) They want to update the game they started Ins
(port it to orange box "Ins classic")

only issue here is like any other man $ sign look a lot more sexy than anything else so Ins classic is on the back burner but it's still cooking so maybe one day we can get some but not for the next 6 months at least.

if we dont loose the actual ins... for me is good...
like zombie master, the devs are not updating it anymore... but there still ppl playing it...
i dont care if they dont do anything else for insurgency... but they should just keep the main server on, so we can get list of server...
