first, for the more pressing issue, why is everyone showing bad dude, and his thread such disrespect? He wears an o, and that alone should be more reason, than anything else, as to why he should be held credible and treated with respect.
Further, i suppose no one is willing to take a chance to help the community. It's a slim shot, i agree, but it's an opportunity nonetheless. It's no secret that the current development team has quit (we in leadership have said this in vent 43057579879878 times.) it's also common knowledge, that communities are cutting ties with the mod, and moving on, which i suspect is one reason as to why we had record recruiting numbers last month. Those communities which dropped out, left players behind for us to pick up. Finally, it was stated very clearly at this week's admin round table, that we are waiting for insurgency: Classic to release, at which point all of our servers will switch over to that version of the game.
------------------------
if you haven't heard the story yet, well, what rock have you been hiding under?! But here is an abridged version.
The original development team, left after beta 1.xx was released. The current development team was left responsible for porting the mod to orange box which has obviously failed. The original team, came back into action this spring semester, and requested access to team files, etc., and were subsequently denied. The original team formed a petition. Jeremy stated that he had legal rights to use beta 1.xx because it was his property at the time of release, so he remains the legal owner of the code. He formed a new development team (with some of the original members) and began working on porting 1.xx to orange box. Around this time, dr. Spielmann (current development team lead) posted his resignation, and endless took his position. Endless then began to ban members all willy-nilly from the forums, and remove posts criticizing the current version. A few weeks after the petition was formed, it declared victory, and the teams entered negotiations. Months went by without much news when suddenly jeremy posted on the, now closed, petition that endless had the balls to ask for 10kusd for each development team leader. And the roster held 24 members at that time. At this point, jeremy realized that nothing really changed from 1.xx to 2.5 except for the addition of karam, and some 203 changes, so he set up an official office for his new game development company. They are currently working on the concept of insurgency: The art of revolution which is intended to be sold as a commercial game, and porting 1.xx to the orange box to create insurgency: Classic.
