Blizzard Match favoring system.

Anyone know how the match favoring system works? I just played a player who they said was favored, i ended up beating them and when i looked at there profile the only thing they had was platinum 2's and everything else was still in placement. Ive come to the conclusion that it just says someone is favored and it doesnt really do anything.

Its based off of APM and the style of play the player has. I played against a 50+ Solo win zerg the other day in 1v1 placement match for my 1v1, and I stomped him, and I didnt know why he was in my placement matches.

Pretty sure its based off of apm and abunch of other crap like how many drones you have or amount of expos
it fails though
i was put into 2v2 gold when i finished my placement matches
i got my ass handed to me multiple times

No, I'm pretty sure it doesn't count APM or anything. It just matches you up with harder and harder opponents until you start losing, then it keeps going down. It gets you to the point where your winning/losing 50/50. So if you stay above 50% in your division you'll eventually get promoted.

Also, 50+ wins doesn't mean anything. You mass games and win games but not get promoted because you still lose more than you win. There is a bronze player with 1,000 games won.

The system is explained on teamliquid, there are two articles that cover every little detail about how your skill and league placement is calculated. I'm on my iPhone so I can't link em right now but they should be easy enough to find.

Yeah, I skimmed over the articles, I go to TL a ton, they were really good articles if people really want to know how the system works.
