On August 7th a thread was posted, replied to, closed, appended, and removed.
I did not remove it and I doubt that there was time for many of you to read my response. But I think I need to make myself clear.
This thread is not a discussion. I will close it upon posting. I am just explaining how I will treat things like this in the future.
The thread was mostly a request that the SOTW have different standards than what we currently employ for submissions. Most of the responses were polite and on topic but emotions ran high. Some of the language found in the thread was unfortunate. It was perceived that personal attacks were made. Some one was upset enough that a posting was made in the drop box and the thread was made to disappear.
So in order of what I perceive to be the importance:
There shall be no language used in the SOTW forum that I do not feel is appropriate for small children to hear. (I can scarcely believe that I had to say that.)
There shall be no personal attacks no matter the provocation. (There had better not be any provocation.)
The rules posted in the SOTW submission thread shall be the rules for that SOTW. If you want to incorporate other images in your own you may. unless a specific SOTW says you may not. I will not make things more restrictive on what people can submit. In case you haven't noticed SOTW has not been getting very many submissions with the notable exceptions of the freestyle weeks.
In closing I commend to your attention the excellent sticky by GardenGroveVW: Rules.
