Just got TF2, what's your favorite server to play on?

Hey mates, iPwnt from bc2 div. I just got tf2, and I'm wondering what your guys' favorite maps/servers are, in terms of easy to learn and play on. Thanks! Can't wait to backstab you all :D

Mesa is a bad map to learn to play on though. Very unbalanced and full of camping and spawn camping that puts new players off. I recommend Valvemaps to start out, good variety of maps and it changes every half hour so it won't get stale.

Kevi stated a good point, you'll get used to all the maps, but we all know that once you get on Turbine, you won't be able to get out....

Exactly, just have the 24/7 Turbine map in your favorites. That's all you need. Or do Valve maps, but nominate Turbine.

Valve maps is the best in my opinion. I love hightower and granary, as those usually end up with a very close match between both teams. Turbine is good, but it only permits one style of gameplay. I'd try both, though, and then tell us what you think! :D

Valve Maps is, imo, the best eGO server to learn on. It's less hardcore than the other servers, that's for sure, and the constantly rotating maps lets you figure out more easily which classes are right for you.

Afterward, I'd say you could try anything else, but if you pop into 2Fort, you'll basically get a 24/7 deathmatch server to practice on. Turbine can get super competitive, BlackMesa is a camp/silly fest. I dunno if there are any other servers.

Mesa is great! The only way to make it better would be to add sudden death, if it still exists as overtime. It's been quite a while since I played sudden death.

For the record, I almost exclusively play 2Fort. Sometimes I pop in for Turbine, and sometimes I'll play any sort of special maps that are going on (like the Halloween special). But 2Fort is my home.

As a new player, I would suggest against Mesa. You've got a lot of people who spend all day there (8+ hours every day) who abuse the broken spots on the map. I personally really like Valve Maps because it's got the best variety of maps. The problem is the constant rotation will throw you off until you learn all the maps. I would suggest Egypt because it's 24/7 and isn't a huge camp fest or deathmatch. You can learn the map and actually get a sense of what the game is supposed to play like. After that try out Turbine and 2fort. You'll have the feel of the game better so all the camping and deathmatch style won't be as frustrating.

I just wish Egypt and Turbine would go back to 32 slot servers... I just can't stand playing with only 24 people. It's so..... empty.
