Problems Opening BC2

So I downloaded BC2 from Steam, and I opened it the first time just fine, changed the resolution to what I wanted it to be (same as my desktop) but now every time I open the game it opens in a windowed mode, and when I click to go into that window my computer goes to a black screen where I have to do a hard shutdown to get it to work again. I was able to get into the game by changing in the settings file, "Fullscreen=true" to "Fullscreen=false" and now I can actually click the window without my computer crashing. I have more than enough hardware to run the game, thats not the issue. I just don't know why it opens in a weird window than I can't actually get into.

Anyways, how do I get it to work in full screen?

i actually have the same problem its open in a window but i click on the window or the bc2 bar with start and it comes to full screen but its still annoying it does that

go to your documents folder there is a folder called BFBC2 look for the setting.ini and there change the fullscreen option to true save change and go play
