i never tried to make a portable one but i have built a SNES, a Sega gensis, n64 and ps1 into 1 case and have it setup to sue the ps1 controllers for everything and to have 1 video output.

ya just take time to make it seem pretty polished as a product and make it rugged since it is portable.
