For almost a week, I've only been playing this. It is really addicting for someone who likes Castlevania. For those who don't know...
Castlevania: Harmony of Despair (HD) is a new Castlevania released on the Xbox LIVE Arcade that takes some of the newest Castlevanias and shoves them into one game, by including 5 characters(Jonathan, Charlotte, Soma, Alucard, Shanoa) and 6 stages inspired by previous games. It also has 6 player Xbox LIVE co-op.
There is no story, there would be no real way all these characters could meet at once. Jonathan and Charlotte were almost definitely dead by the time Aria of Sorrow took place (Portrait of Ruin takes place in the mid 1940s, Aria of Sorrow in 2035)
The only problems I find are that this game is a little glitchy, and there are balance issues. I beat Dracula on Hard by myself in skeleton form (that's dead) because my brother was disconnecting, and therefore invincible. That should never happen.
As for balance issues, Shanoa and Charlotte are right at the beginning overpowered in comparison to the other characters. But, later, it kind of rounds out for everyone except Jonathan. He's still not quite as good as the others, in my opinion
.
But, I find the good outweighs the bad, and it is a game to buy. It will definitely last you a long time, and I find very few problems with it.
I apologize for possibly going into too much detail.
To kick off discussion:
I've been farming Dracula and Death on hard with my brother most of the time. It still manages to remain challenging, even after we got so many upgrades and have done it so many times.
Well, not with Alucard's super sword...but still, pretty challenging.
