Fps Lag help??

Hey guys, so lately when i've been playin CS:S my gameplay will stay normal and i'll be havin a great time playin on our wonderful eGO servers, but then i'll get hit with a terrible fps (frames per second) lag.. it is soo annoying. So i'm just wondering if you guys have any advice to fix my fps lag so i can go back to enjoying CS:S, thx!

Is there anything running in the background? It shouldn't be doing that. Make sure no programs are scanning or anything in the background (hint: use task manager)
