TheHulk

Famous
Hey guys TheHulk here with another one of his nonsense threads! Todays thread is about the origin of your gaming name. Where did it come from. Why do you call yourself that. And who has made fun of it.

Throw some interesting stories my way!

Cool story bro! Oh wait, there aren't any stories yet....
Well I'll just start!
I loved the name Shadow, but it is a very common name, always taken ingame. My friends name was Purenainesh, so I decided to copy him, and add "esh" to the end of my name. And so, Shadowesh was born. And they lived happily ever after. The end.

My original gaming tag was "Dark Reaper", back when I played Starsiege (an old mech game). When I got into Starcraft, I got really into making custom maps, and my cousin, Galactimus Zero, was already a pro at it. In fact, he had already made a map called "Starship Troopers Outpost 30", which I really liked, but I wanted to improve on it. So I made a new version, with an extensive overhaul of the enemies and the attack system, called it "Starship Troopers Xpert Edition", and credited it to "Dark Reaper and Galactimus Zero". I think we even made a Battle.net account to that effect, "Dark Reaper and Galactimus Zero".

So anyway, yeah, I've been using that as my tag ever since, and the acronym of "Dark Reaper and Galactimus Zero" is obviously "DRaGZ".

Well i was bluE until i realized someone else had the exact same name in some other division, so i changed to dy1an which is my actual name except with a 1 because dylan was taken, and so far everyone has made fun of my name...

My name is Chocozumo, which came from a popular web comic show, "Homestarruner"
in one of the "Strong Bad E-mail" episodes, someone asks him what his bottom 10 things were. One of them was foods with really dumb names, one of them being "Chocozuma's Revenge!"...based on Montezuma's revenge!

It was like a year since I watched that episode...so I thought it was Chocozumo...and no one ever uses this name =D So i'm pretty much good...but everyone calls me CHA-coe-zoo-moe, ITS
CHOE-CO-ZOO-MOE

s3rv0, derived from Tom Servo. See my avatar, here or in game. Several friends and I in high school bought a very expensive, very top of the line server. Not rented it, we bought it, built it, and sent it to a company in Chicago to have it hosted. We ran several counterstrike servers, and when looking for a theme for our community/niche of friends, we chose Mystery Science Theater 3000. Those of us who all knew each other chose our aliases, and as one of the two original founders, I got the coveted Tom Servo. We had a bustling community, and had great fun adminning (and occasionally abusing, to the chagrin of all) our pubbers. Eventually, after becoming broke college students, we couldn't afford to run the servers anymore, so the community ended, but the legacy lives on. I replaced letters with numbers to make the name more original and nerdify it a bit, and took out the Tom to also make it a bit more unique.

And MrCool: Did you really just dig up a thread started almost 3 years ago just to yell "repost" at someone? Come on, be glad someone finally posted a threat that doesn't include a bounty or a lame youtube video.

Well my brother bought TF2 originally and he wanted to use my laptop since it was the strongest of our computers (and by that I mean it was the only one not borked).

So we ended up coming with a name together, since he's a transformers fan he wanted to put the deceptive in and I put the yoshi. Now I bought games into this account and bought him his own TF2 and account but I decided to keep the name due to the fact that it's pretty funny seeing people respond to me when I disguise as a medic and backstab them.

MY name is the most interesting name obviously, and i have the best story of how i came it up.

this is my gamertag for xbl, which i had for a year or so before i joined eGO. I chose that name cause when i made my xbl account, i had been staring at that chose a name thing for 2 hours (really, 2 hours.) trying to think of a name, i gave up and said screw it, opened a dictionary and flipped to a random page and point to a word, which wasnt noise but it was some word i didnt know, the one under it was noise :)

it has the 964 part because it sounds cool with the word noise in front of it, really think of a better sounding combination of Noise and 3 numbers.

Well, my name is Kevin, and I was spending about an hour trying to come up with a good name for Battle.Net. So one of my friends suggested Kevimaster, he was joking he thought it sounded dumb. I really liked it though, so I've been Kevimaster ever since :p
