possible demoman overpowered?

Pistol
- Only does a decent amount of damage if a lot of shots are hit.

vs

Wrangler

- 300% increased health for the SG.
- Give's the SG the ability to shoot at infinite range with no damage fall off.
- Give's the SG better prioritizing.
- Rocket jumping with the SG.

Straight upgrade goes against what unlocks should be.

Plus even though you kill the engy the shield still remains, so say it takes 1 rocket to kill the engy, it takes 3 rockets to kill a sg unshielded. It will take 4+ rockets to kill a shielded SG forcing you to reload and back off because then the sg will have a chance to kill you. That's assuming that you kill the engy with 1 rocket.


2 things: firstly, you don't include the significant downsides to the wrangler that make me always carry the pistol. That is to say, can't repair it, can't stop wrangling when there are people around (because it disables it), if (and when) you die, your sentry is pretty much dead.

second thing. Soldiers have never been the best at taking out sentries, and wranglers exemplify that pretty well. Heavies kill the engie and the gun before it's out of the shield, demos lay down your regular 3 stickies and wait for the gun to be unshielded, pyros just burn the hell out of it until it dies, and at that range, it'll take it out before it can fire again.
 
Whats that even mean? wrangler is uber waster :(

Because people will come back instantly and switch back to Wrangler, so that the shield never goes down.

If you kill the engy on a normal respawn, he obviously doesn't come back instantly, so the Sentry is vulnerable for at least 8 seconds (if the respawn timer is short, more likely around 12 seconds), which is more than enough time to take out the sentry.

Wrangler is utterly useless if you're a Gunslinging Engy.
 
Heavies,pyros,demoman

Usually when somebody is wrangling it isn't around a corner. It's someplace where the sight range makes the heavy and pyro have to run really far before they get into a good range to hit the SG. Such as by spawn on Gravelpit defending C or Badlands on the train carts guarding the middle point etc. Now while the range is not such a hamper to demoman. It still gives several seconds before the demoman can charge his sticky launcher to land 3 stickys. Seconds which could be wasted by a teleporter or other enemies coming to the aid of the engy chasing back the demo.

And sorry for the wrangler not working well with the gunslinger?
 
BTW if a demo can't direct hit you will 1/4 pipes, he's not that great a demo.

There can be sooooo many variables in this its not even funny. Are we talking about pubs or pugs? Against which class? Is the person your fighting have good movement? Are you tired or not on your game today? There can be too many variables in this situation for anyone to say " if he can't hit 1/4 pipes, then he is not a good demo." Simply not true.
Sure pipes sure help a lot but thats not everything for demo. In fact in pugs its way more than just pipe aim.
