Being a person who loves sniping, it can sometimes get annoying when the sniper spots are all taken. So I was just asking why there were no sniper rifles on the !guns menu. Yes I do understand that we don't want everyone running around with sniper rifles! however, I have seen arguments about who should be on the sniper spots. Once on the firefight server, this guy tk'd the sniper to get his rifle. I'm not completely for or against having sniper rifles on the !guns menu, I just wanted to see who thinks that we should have them, and who doesn't and why! Well this is my first post since i joined eGO so you can also post what i could do to make this post more interesting or something.

Yeah sometimes people get pretty rude about asking for the sniper spot too. Not just a hey mind switching so I can snipe. It's usually more along the lines of, "God you snipers suck give it to me I'm better." Sometimes not so nice either.

We do not have it on the !guns mainly b/c if we did 90-99% of the players would all pick it and therefor no team work is used. If someone who is sniping is not so good, give them a chance to get better, not everyone gets better at playing the game as quickly as others might or wait until they die and take their gun, or politely ask them to give it to you.
I do not think they are needed. Snipers (Most people who snipe) do not work as a team and complain when someone is not giving it to them. If we did put it on the menu everyone would be a sniper and the game would get boring as no-one would try to cap objectives or work together and just sit back an the map/server would be come a 24/7 snipe fest.

i really am not the type that tries to hog the sniper spot or tries to steal it from someone. and yah i listen to where problems are and where i can snipe to help them. I was just triyng to get some ideas on what other people think
Yeah, I'm not a fan of a map with too many snipers and that's why a figured that the !guns menu did not have sniper rifles for that reason. As Gunney says, you can always pick one up off the ground and while playing on the Dust2 map, I always see plenty of sniper rifles lying on the ground during any given round.

I havent play our server for INS yet but the server I have play on, the Iraq Insurgents have sniper rifles... Is this just an eGO thing I assume?
