"Not feeling the love" so to speak

I have added a few eGO members to my friends list, (not going to mention names) to talk and ask a couple of questions. No member I've added will respond. I know that eGO members aren't here just to answer my questions, but even general chat (hey, how are you, etc) goes unresponded to.

All of these members have yet to respond to a single message. Granted, people are busy and some times forget to change their status, I don't think this is the case. I only have messaged these members when their status is set at "online", no response. Recently, I even added a member in game, to talk to them a bit, and they continued to play, ignoring both my steam and in game messages.

I just don't know why I can't get a response, even if it were an "I'm busy", I wouldn't mind. The only person of the 4 e members I've added who will respond back to me, is the guy who recruited me. Is it me? Should I not try to take Edge as a community and leave everyone alone? Is it these people?

I wouldn't worry too much about it. You're a relatively new member, you only joined about 2 weeks ago, so just wait a little while for people to get to know you. As for those questions, if you still need them answered, just ask them here, or you can add me, I will respond.

Getting to know people in game before adding them on steam usually helps, just adding people onto friends and trying to start conversation is kind of hard. They don't want to really converse, since they don't really know you.

If you have questions, there is plenty of places to ask them, one of them being the forums.

The thing is, eGO is HUGE. We've got so many members and dozens of new recruits a day. To many memebers, you would be just another e.

Don't be. Make a name for yourself on the servers, in the forums, over the shoutbox, in ventrillo (That's the place where we all go to chat). Once we get to know you, recognise you for who you are, you'll probably find it much easier to strike up conversations as everyone familiarises themselves with you. Heck, you'd probably find quite a few friend requests yourself.

Remember too that sometime people walk away from their desks and forget to change their status or are perhaps in the middle of a major fire-fight and don't get to respond right away, then it slips their mind.

It's best not to assume the worst in these sorts of situations. Just keep trying, extend people some grace and keep adding more people to your list!
