Steam Servers Too Busy?

Hey Guys!

I posted this as a question on Valve Support and I decided to post this here because you guys might be able to get back to me faster but heres the problem:

"Tried updating and popup read Please try again within a few minutes servers are busy. That was two days ago. Tried yesterday did the same thing. Tried uninstalling and redownloading today and it couldnt start the download because that popped up."

I also tried uninstalling Steam completely and that also didnt work. Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance!

OH yeah it also may help to mention that I am on a Mac. Just throwin that out there. :D

Also there are no fire walls on my computer.

And on a side note this problem also prevents me from playing ALL of my Online enabled steam games.

Try deleting ClientRegistry.blob and then running Steam again. And yeah... Valve support takes DAYS to get back on your questions.

Tried the changing connection and download location and no success my steam client is up to date and i tried all of this with everything closed on my computer but Steam. Does anyone know what folder the Clientregistry.blob file is on a Mac?

(YourHD)/user/(YourName)/library/application support/steam/

I think it is in there I am not to sure

ok here is a few possible solutions

1. try going STEAM>SETTINGS(prefrences, if you're on mac)>DOWNLOADS and change the download region to a diffrent but relativly close country

2. try renaming Clientregisty.blob

If the issue is isolated to a few Steam games, please exit from Steam and go to the Steamapps folder (default is C:program FilesSteamSteamapps) and delete any listed .ncf files for the specific games. Once complete, please restart Steam to test the issue.

I got this problem too, i just change my download region to somewhere like iceland or something, always work for me

Problem has been solved.

For future reference

Open Finder and follow this path
Users/[username]/Library/Application Support/Steam

Delete all thats in that folder
Restart Computer
Open Steam then reinstall all games.

You may lock the thread if necessary

Thanks for the help guys!
