Well i have been talking to Bethesda tech support about there oblivion SDK crashing upon trying to save a mod on Windows 7 and they just kept copy and pasting the same things over and over and or just straight saying they could not or would not help me so i decided they needed pwned because i found the solution to my problem on a forum oriented around modding oblivion

You know, surprisingly, the only Tech Support that I found was trustworth, was Mircosoft's. Yes I said Microsoft, sue me.

I like Acer's Tech-Support. Yes, scoff all you want. But their RMA team is amazingly quick, I got my netbook sent and repaired in less then a week.

Well steam support kept copy pasting the same solutions to me when I asked them to help me fix DoD:S not working. The problem eventually fixed itself and they didnt seem to know what was wrong or how to fix it o.0

Most people in tech support departments don't know anything about Tech Support.

I called a tech support company once and told them what to do if I had a virus. They told me to backup my files and reinstall my operating system. I made a buzzer sound at the guy and he hung up. I called again and got another guy, I asked him what to do if my dvd drive wasn't working. He told me I would need a new one. I made a buzzer sound again and he asked why I did that, and I told him that you should always check the connections of the wires within the computer before buying a new part. He hung up.

Double pwned? I don't remember when this happened or what company I called, but they failed miserably. I was home alone at the time so meh I needed something to do, that's all I can remember about it.

I still think that's double pwned. They need to stop training tech support teams to use the simplest and easiest route, that happens to be the least convenient route for the consumer looking for help. That's how it is around where I live at least...

You can always just PM me for Tech support! Don't try to pwn me, because I'll infinitely pwn you! :p

Apple's Tech Support is awesome, I've only called them twice however. Mainly because they're not in a call center in India. Also a lot of tech support is available in store at the genius bar.

A&t's tech support however is horrible. They always say the same thing and usually never help me, I tell them to just send a technician and they're pretty knowledgeable.

Go into any major electronics store/ section in the store. They're pretty much hired to make you buy more stuff instead of fix it.

Talk to any one in a best buy about a piece of electronics and just laugh to your self how much misinformation they're telling you.

I was at best buy, looking into buying a cheap graphics card for my older desktop.
I had asked one of the workers, "Where are the graphics cards located?" and he brang me to a desktop they had there, and tryed to convince me that a laptop with a intel core i5 @ 2.1GHz, 4GB of ram, and a integrated ATI HD 5650 was faster and better @ gaming than a desktop with a core i7 @ 3.7GHz with 2GB of ram and a Nvidia GTX460, because the laptop had 2 more gigs of ram (lul)

OMG genius bar pisses me off. Anything apple tech support related really. They assume that most of their customers (*cough* like them *cough*) are computer illiterate, and have no idea how a PC works. Also how you have to "Book an appointment" with the genius bar is plain idiotic.

I'll take you though a scenario that happened to me:

Me: *walks into apple store*
Apple rep: "hello, do you need assistance?"
me: "Yea, i would like to talk with one of your tech support guys"
Apple rep: "Sorry, but you need to schedule an appointment to talk with a genius"
me: "umm, why can't I talk with them now? there are at least 2 of them not doing anything"
Apple rep: "They are already working with a client. Sir you have to book an appointment"
me: *walks out of store*

I then "book an appointment" online

me: *walks up to 'genius bar'*
"genius": "hello, what do you need help with"
me: "well, one day, my itouch just stopped turning on"
"genius": "can i see it?"
me: *hands it to him*

he then proceeds to plug it into his laptop. He waits for about 20 seconds, and guess what?! It doesn't turn on! Then he just pretty much confirms what i already knew... "something is wrong with it" cool. Then he goes into this lengthy speech about how to repair it it would cost $180, and how i can get a discount on a new one if i trade in the broken one.

Way to give me some kind of clue on what was wrong.... All I know now is that your "geniuses" should look into a different career.

Just pisses me off how I am fueling your high profit margin, and you can't spend $2 more an hr. and get someone who at least has a clue about apple products......

I'm sure there have been countless times where apple support has been useful, but I will not be making an appointment with a "genius" anytime soon.

I'm sorry what do you want them to do with a broken ipod touch? Just take it apart right there. iPod's are pretty straight forward if it doesn't turn on its a hardware problem, something no one will fix right in front of you. With actual computers they diagnose the problems of the computers including switching power bricks, booting from another hard drive and using an external monitor. They also are able to diagnose any software issues. As for the appointment things its pretty much just like the rest of the world. Ever been to the DMV? You need to make an appointment for most things and the ones you don't have to make one you end up waiting in a line for hours. Unlike geek squad (isn't free) genius bar is free to fix software problems and to ask questions about the product and how to use something, therefore there are a lot more people waiting. I have never walked into a best buy and see a line forming at geek squad, anytime I go to an apple store its packed with people buying things, asking questions, etc.

They wasted ~2hrs to tell me that it is broken... I was expecting maybe a "the screen is shot, you can replace it and it will work" or "the PCB is fried, you can just replace that and it will be fine"

"something is wrong with it" doesn't give me anything
