This list is to list all the MODs that have been tried out and are either dead or somewhat alive. If you come across any other mods that fall in these categories, send me a PM and I'll add them to this list. I will try my best to maintain this list.
DEAD MODS:
These following Mods either have no servers/players and are not being worked on or appear so.
Note: It is possible that the mods listed here are still currently being worked on. The dev team just may not be releasing updates often. If i see that these Mods start getting updates, I'll edit this post.
Decadence- Great mod, community is dead as you can no longer sign up for an account to login and play the game with.

SMOD Troopers- This mods has a single player mode and a versus mode which you can play against other players as well as NPCs. It kinda looks like a Halo HL2 mod. There where no servers when I tried it.Though no sign that it has been dropped or that its being worked on.

Situation Outbreak- In this mod you will team up with your friends in order to survive against hundreds of zombies. This mod is currently on hold. When and if the Devs pick it back up, I'll switch it to Live Mods.

Kingdoms Collide- A very interesting Fantasy HL2 mod. It has a few servers but it hasn't been updated in a while and no one is ever on.

The Invaders: Source- A team orientated multiplayer deathmatch game based on the 2007 Orange Box Source engine. The unique selling point is that one side faces playing the game in an unforgiving ultra-realistic setting whilst the opposing team is playing in a stylized setting designed to wean in new audiences. The environments and GUI will look different dependent on which team's perspective is being played.

Suicide Survival- Great game if you wanna take a break from all the "shoot em' up" mods. http://www.moddb.com/mods/suicide-survival
Coven- Pretty fun game if you like hunting vampires or putting stakes through their hearts and watching them burn and not sparkle =).

Attack Day- Great concept for a game, stated to be really realistic in gameplay as well. I checked and the games had no servers or players but i saw no sign of it being dropped though. Thats why i am putting it here. If i do see that its dead, i'll move it.

Exterminatus- Great mod of human vs aliens. Its alot of fun and worth a try.

Proyect Z- A pretty good Zombie based MMOFPSRPG.

Zombie Panic: Source- This is a mod off CS:S in which you will be trying to kill of all the zombies as a human and vice versa...but be careful once you get infected, you become your enemy.

Fortress Forever- Fortress Forever should please those who have stuck with or been a part of QWTF and TFC over the years while at the same time doing more for new TF players than any prior Fortress attempt.
