Brain....going....NUTS!!!!

Aight, problem is, I can't decide on anything for my new pc.Il just start from the start.

Dad says we should get new pc. I plan it out, he says we should wait till December. I learn about new parts and now I'm going back and forth, AMD to intel, Ati to nvidia.

I was looking at doing crosshair iv+470 (sli hack) and then another one later

Then into i7 briefly, but that go shut down, not worth it IMO.

Looked into i5, can't find a motherboard to tri sli (without sellingy kidneys). With the one I have right now, the i7 is cheaper.

I'm thinking... Drop everything until December, then pick up maybe a Bulldozer AMD processor and an
ATI 6XXX series.

What are you thoughs?

Go Intel. AMD has some decent ones, but cannot put out as much as the Intel ones.

While this is true, you need to look forward to new CPUs and GPUs.
I say, if your current computer is just fine, stick with that and wait for Bulldozer/Sandy Bridge to come out, as well as Northen Islands/ Fermi 2.0 (or whatever it will be called).

.....Im curious as to what makes an i7 not worth it? Tri-Sli is more not worth it than that, IMO (Unless you are an absolute folding finatic buiding a folding farm)...

Either way, Phobus is right. If your current comp is not having issues, then you should save your money and see what the future holds (which is coming up soon)

aight, Im gaming on a MacBook Pro, but right now, im only playing TF2 and CS:S, So Il stick with this, and wait for those new "revolutionary" things ;)

BTW, I was looking really into that CrossHair IV with SLI hack, but im not sure if I could Tri-Sli with it.

Also, Tri Fire and Tri-Sli are more for Multi-Monitor (Eyefinity and 3D seround) It gives a great up in performance.

Why would you want Tri-Fire? Epic scaling is not epic. -.-
And dual 470s would be really good for multi monitors.

2 5850s is all you need (mabye not even that much) for running games at max settings at 5760x1080 res (i dont know much about Nvidia 'eyefinity'). If you want the Tri/quad, then you should go for it but you will be dishing a pretty penny for it.

Your thinking to hard about it. Don't go with that board, getting a motherboard that can do SLI but it's self, instead of going for this new hardware.

Tri-fire is overkill, use the extra money and put it towards and i7, or whatever your waiting for. Source games are CPU dependent, having a high clocked i7 will give you more FPS than adding another video card.

LOL. I doubt 2 5850s could handle 5760x1080 gaming at max detail with good frames.
And Nvidia's 'Eyefinity' is just 2D Surround. Or Surround. >.> But they have 3D Surround, which is 3 3D monitors together.

SLI hack WILL NOT WORK with newer 256.XXX (or whatever they are) drivers.

You will have to use older drivers like 198.xx or whatever they are.

Just sayin' your better off buying an SLI board.

on a side note:
FOLDING FARMS FTW!

And obviously nvidia can run 3 3D monitors on less Mbs, but ATI, on more powerful cards without 3D cannot?

Sorry, I gotta call bullzies on that one phobus.

To get decent 3D zeroing you need a couple 480.

What are you smoking?
I said 470s would be good for multimonitor setups. As in, you know, Nfinity (they should TOTALLY call it that. Would be awesome)? I never said anything about 3D.
Plus, 470s are = or > than 5870s, which are > 5850s. And, SLI scaling > CFX scaling, so 2 470s > 2 5870s, even 2 460s are = or > than 2 5870s.

Ok, it seems that I messed up my stuff there.

Also, I'm kinda stuck with cfx, unless I do amd.

If I were to have a choice, I'd probably chose nvidia, for phyX with mafia 2

They would totally get sued brah
