^^ like the title says i have a black screen when i log into windows 7 ultimate and i don't know how to fix it =/ and it usually takes me around 3 reboots to get it to show my desktop and load all the stuff.

nope that didn't work either =/ i also tried using my windows disk and that didnt help :'(

if i log out then log back in it goes to the black screen again =/
and i dont think this has anything to do with my graphics card

yeah i have already used the fix and it didnt work
sounds like hardware.. not software.
If someone had this problem and randomly typed that url into google without knowing what the url was for they should win every prize in every book ever available or that ever will be available.
its a black screen but not like there isnt anything coming on cause i can see my mouse and go to task manager and get to my web browser and other things from there its just that i dont see my desktop or any icons and nothing else boots
did you"upgrade" to windows7 ? ie had xp or vista and did the windows7 upgrade?
yes i did do that about a year ago or almost a year ago and i had XP (if it saves all your old XP files is that upgrading?)

it sounds to me as if the video drivers are corrupted.
