Zerg Help.

? Frisky Dingo ?

Ive been playing zerg against the AI for the past few days and would like to know if anyone has a detailed standard B.O for them that they would be willing to share with me. I would like to know how many drones till you begin building and how many drones collecting what mineral and after so many drones what do u build next and what starting army do you begin with. After that you dont need to be so detailed, just state that you can go in this direction if you want to make this type of army ect. I would appreciate the help, I think my problem is that I make an army and sit in my base and try and turtle while I get a better eco and this seems to be a big problem that I dont push most of the time.

Standard builds include http://wiki.teamliquid.net/starcraft2/Speedling_Expand and http://wiki.teamliquid.net/starcraft2/14_pool_15_hatch. (ton more, but I just picked two)

You as a zerg need a expansion up extremely fast to pump more units. One base plays are more to defend cheese, like 1 base muta then expand, but aren't good economically.

You need about 30 workers per base to fully saturate, 3 on each gas and 3 on each mineral patch. That doesn't mean to stop making them, ALWAYS KEEP MAKING WORKERS.

Army depends on what the opponents doing, so scout obviously. Make sure you get queens up and inject larva and spread creep.

This is just the opening, the rest you have to figure out as the game goes on. You can get the idea of what you can transition to in the builds on the same site I linked to you. (not openers). Example - against MMM go muta/ling/baneling, later into ultras. You can decide on your own unit comp, your not constricted. Throwing in some infestors helps a lot against MMM also.

Zergling speed expand is becoming the favored opening so you can defend against anything early on. That guide may be a little updated, try 13 pool 14 gas on the zergling expand.

Download http://www.sc2mapster.com/maps/yabot/ which is a custom map that will let you practice your build orders, and already has some built in builds, one being the one I linked.

Ok cut seeing as ur the only one who responded to this, I took ur advice and played a 1v1 and won, tried it again for a rank and got beat against a lame protoss player who made 10 photon cannons right outside his base. He did this cuz of my 15 or so roaches who I kept trying to micro by hitting and going underground to heal and then popped back up to attack. What counters those cannons so that next time I wont be caught off guard to so many cannons, also those things can shoot my units while underground (so lame).

If he's turtling and not moving out, expand. You'll gain a massive economic advantage and your basically in the clear since he doesn't seem to be moving out. So, you'll basically double his economy and units.

Also, another KEY thing is to get upgrades. Don't sit at 0/0 the whole time. Get +1 to attack to start you off, and if he has no upgrades he's at disadvantage. If you have left over money, upgrade. It's basically 1 click and a few minerals and all your units get better.

When you move out to attack and do damage, expand, if he's turtling, expand. Macro up, get more units, more upgrades then just move into his base.

No protoss in high level gets that many cannons, it's a huge waste of money, so he's already way behind in the unit count. It's really just a player being bad manner since he can't win. I've had people do it to me before and I just had like 4 bases over his 2. Don't expect people to do that often, it's really bad. But if your still learning, the strat will catch you off guard.

Are you playing in the practice league? Because if you are that makes since, since it's on novice maps and has way more destructible rocks so they can turtle easier. Or are you just doing placement matches.

if your a successful zerg, he SHOULD be turtling, and you should be holding back his expo
you should also harass his workers like crazy

Mkay. Yeah, my friend played practice matches and it completely threw him off when he finally did his placement matches lol, he got rushed because he realized he didn't have rocks blocking off all his chokes. Good that you just skipped it.

wrong x 2000000

zerg move faster on creep, moving faster means gathering minerals back n forth faster
you dont need that many drones per base
unless you hardcore turtle
