For those who don't know what Mine Craft is:
"Minecraft is a sandbox game which allows players to build constructions out of textured cubes in a 3D world. The gameplay is inspired by Dwarf Fortress, RollerCoaster Tycoon, Dungeon Keeper, and especially Infiniminer."
The game is split into two variants, Alpha and Classic; Classic is both single- and multiplayer and includes only the building aspects of the game with unlimited blocks, and Alpha also has a single- and multiplayer mode and includes monsters and a much greater variety of crafting available, as well as requiring players to mine their own blocks. Alpha is currently the alpha release of Minecraft, and will move into beta sometime in August 2010.
Basically, during the day, you gather supplies and build a place you can call home. During the night, Zombies, skeletons, spiders, and people who will blow your face off come out with the main objective of killing you. This being a sandbox game, you aren't really restricted to what you can do; only what your creativity can not come up with.
Currently, you can purchase the Alpha build of the game for ?9.95, or about 13 dollars USD (I believe?). Once the game is released in its Beta-form, it will cost ?20.
