Hey guys when i edit/change files in the steam folder while in offline mode
then tries to run DoD:s, i get a warning message saying something about steam may not be able to sync the file. if i press day of defeat in game section of steam a message saying "one or more files being edited and running the game may delete edits/progress may be lost".. Anyways i press the play the game, play for a while in offline mode. now, if i exit the game then click day of defeat in the game section of steam the same message appears, the game runs fine though.

so my question(s) are
1) what is this steam cloud?
2) why does the messages keep appearing even though i allready confirmed that progress may be deleted
3) why doesn't the "progressed/edited" files reset?

i hope someone can give me the answers im looking for;)

Steam cloud is bascially a program that will sync all your game settings, binds and other things on all your pc's.

I think it will also do your game progress.

Steam Cloud is a program that saves all your settings on your steam account, and by running in offline mode, your files cannot be saved, so thats why you get your error
