I am STILL having issues ( its been over a month now, no games with 3d!!!) I have partial functinatitaly, where after maybe 1 or 2 minutes the screen pixalates into odd colors then compeletly locks up.

I have tied everything, reinstalling ALL my drivers for everything, stystem restores, and talk to MS on tech support, is there anyway I could fix this? I think I may just reimigage the computer, it would save a lot of trouble.

Sounds like your video card is frying. Check the temperature on it while you play.

how can I do that?

because 2d games like Age of Empires and normal stuff still functions, wouldn't the graphics card effect those?

if I take my case off, will I be able to tell visually if my card is damaged or fried?

probably not. but i would try opening the case and check to see if your video card fan is spinning or looking for problematic dust on the card. if either of those are the case, i would go with the overheating being the culprit.

Tell me the inside is dust free... Get a can of air and give it a little spray... You can find them at like best buy or any other computer store.

If your card was fried other games shouldn't be working. That's good! Like others have said your card is probably overheating, however. I'm rather shocked AoE3 isn't causing it to overheat (if this is the problem). Both are very graphic intensive and will heat up anyones graphics card.

If your motherboard has decent onboard video i suggest taking your video card out, running your computer with onboard video. even onboard video can run dod.

if your onboard video runs dod, then your gonna need a new video card.
