Check These guys out....frikking FANTASTIC !

I didn't know about that, I just like good rock. When I listen to music in my headphones, I don't give a crap about politics, emo, etc.

emo propagates the average to hate themselves and to push back the bridge of sustainable human frailties and emotion to that of a daffodil (daffodils have little strength). This emo scene has only brought to light the modern american wasteland which began back with our grandfathers after WWI as depicted by Hemmingway, Steinbeck, and some other geezers who eventually offed themselves at the realization of the futility of it all. As americans we live in the american dream and nightmare where television and media castigates us for not being as rich as those who have fulfilled the nightmare. We hate ourselves in our mediocrity so we cry about it and we dwell until emo kids begin to scream, and then sell out. (ps there is no vocal range for screaming/dryheaving) So go on drown and wallow aimlessly into your abyss. "One generation passeth and another cometh...The sun also riseth in the dawn and seteth at dusk"

boojala has a point...its just like marketing depression and imperfection to the masses. people arent perfect compared to the rich and famous so they feel bad, and the "scene" music of the day is like what boojala said, people dwelling on it too much and trying to make music out of their sadness, anger, self-hatred, whatever it may be. either way im not too much of a fan of it, i prefer 90s punk and metal :)

You guys are too hung up in the background stuff. What you said about emo and marketing depression applies to the great bands like Black Sabbath and Alice Cooper.

Songs like,
- Black Mass
- Paranoid
- Psycho Man
- Master of Reality
- Iron Man
- War Pigs
- Eighteen
- Elected
- Under My Wheels
- Dead Babies
- Killer
- Welcome to my nightmare

This stuff today isn't new, someone just dropped a label beside it and called it "emo". The above songs sung decades ago could class as emo too. In ten years another guy will call it something else. Did your generation think they invented something new?

It's the same old same old, in a different wrapper.

When I listen to My Chemical Romance, it is the LEAD, DRUMS, force of VOCALS, BASS that I listen to. Same with any group.

If you are talking about "marketing depresson and imperfection", then rap/hip hop fits the bill quite well. It's nothing but syncopated yelling spouting murder, rape, killing, hate and violence and has very little or no music value. But mobody says a word about that.

I believe we all just need to stick with what we believe in, respect others for voicing what they dissagree about it, and then just simply STOP. Lets stick to the music that we want to and not try to put down others
