Eh, I'm currently diggin' U2, Switchfoot, Coldplay, Relient K, and, uhh, a couple other random bands and artists. I also like chillin' with a little new age on occasion.
I like most all types I don't believe in limiting my enjoyment. You name it I'll probably enjoy it.
But sad to say I just can't bring myself to like most rap. To me rap is more like poetry set to a back beat something like the beatniks back in the late 50s or early 60s. The focus is too much on the words not a blend of the two. I was amazed to see on the MTV Music awards that most of the acts had no musical instruments on stage. Sorry music to me has to have instruments. Not just words set to a pounding beat.
I thought as I got older that I would never be like my folks and not be able to appreciate my kid’s music. Which I did for the most part but the grandkids is a different story. I really tried to get into
rap but atlas.....
I don't mind metal if the band can actually play an instrument with a tune or sing without screaming a bloody lung. So I pretty much hate all death metal... I don't mind the early metal bands though. I prefer soft rock, or more specifically, Acid rock [Things like Pink Floyd or The peanut butter conspiracy)
or J-Rock/pop [Not that school girl rock crap, though I like the heavier turn Ayumi Hamasaki took with Secret]
The heaviest I can think of that I listen to is some of Lacuna Coil.
It wasn't an option but i love indie. Don't know why but i just love it. But while listening to the radio i stick to rock cause there's not too much indie floating around the radio stations.
I like a way to wide selection of music to just pick one but if i had to I guess hmm............ either emo or hip hop
Emo cause thats what i listen to mostly now but i grew up on hip hop first cd i ever bought was the original cronic
