New backup hard drive

Hey all, so I purchased a cloud account to backup my data but unfortunately I wasn't able to back up everything in time, so instead of investing more money in the cloud service for another year, im gonna go for a hard drive instead. However, ill admit that im a little conflicted on whether to go with a regular hard drive or possibly go with an external hard drive. Overall, im not really too worried about the heat situation as I already have 2 externals, but I believe that one of them is only a 1 or 2 tb drive and looking at getting myself a 4 tb drive to move the files other (this process will be faster than moving it to the cloud imho).

I guess my question is should I go with a regular hard drive or should I look at an external hard drive? I will say that Im not in a real big rush on getting the hard drive as the main purpose of this has been to move files to a secure location to get myself ready for my future build (ive had most of the parts for this build for over 6 months now).

External with RAID, if you’re using it for backups. Redundancy is nice to have.

and then get a firebox to store it in :ROFLMAO:

I would look into backblaze though, their pricing is very affordable
