I got a Blue Yeti mic for Christmas and my friends told me it sounds horrible, worse than my old razer headset mic. Any reasons why? I thought Blue Yeti mics were supposed to be very good.

Verify the cable is plugged in all of the way. Verify windows microphone settings so that they are the correct quality and mic.

system settings > sound > input
verify that the correct mic is selected

scroll down > more/advanced sound settings
verify that the proper mic is checked, right-click and disable all incorrect microphones.

right-click microphone > properties > advanced
Make sure the format matches what the manual says.

I had the same issue(s).
Remember that the mic has to face you sideways, and you also have to have it very close to your mouth.
Try to do those things before you go and buy shit

Make sure it is plugged into the rear of your computer, in the actual motherboard I/O ports. A LOT of computer cases cause issues with microphone sound when you plug it into the front/top case ports.

make sure that the setting on the back of the microphone is set to cardoid and not omni

Left is cardoid (back of mic) and right is omni.
