The first ever round of EGO Mafia is now finished! The winner was @WiipartyU as the Mass RDMer (serial killer), who achieved both win conditions of their role! This thread is to recap the entire story of the game, as well as give any feedback you may have of the flaws that this first game may have had in your eyes so we can improve for the next game.

Detective @sopheyy Power: inspect players to reveal roles at night
Doctor @Filipe Power: Protect one person per-night to prevent their death
Punks @DDZ ZioNeX @gabby @Wahtur @KumQuat Role: kill all villagers. Powers: kill one villager every night, the Spy (gabby) can also investigate someone, but once she dies the power is lost to the rest of the team.
Mass RDMer (Serial Killer) - @WiipartyU Powers: every night chose one action : Investigate, protect or kill. Win conditions; be the last man standing OR kill one special villager, one normal villager and one punk
Troll @Martin - Win condition: convince everyone to vote off three people of your choosing, role doesn't matter. If you are killed, plant falsified evidence on yourself to take someone down with you and if they are voted off the next day you win.
Bobb's Avenger (Hunter) @Parking Ticket - Power: one bullet. Kill a Punk, but if you kill a non-punk, you end your own life out of regret.
"Welcome to the second annual EGO barbeque hosted by the one and only Legend! Many warm greetings were had as online friends finally got to meet for the first time in person! Several of you arrive fashionably late, which is typical because you do the same at the community meetings. The other guests who arrived on time appear to have already devoured the first course of assorted meats. Once everyone arrived the real party began! DeerFat turned the volume all the way up and began playing Caramelldansen and a disgusting scene unfolded when a bunch of gamers who had never touched grass before began to attempt to dance. A circle formed around a twerking BT in his iconic D.Va cosplay. Some snuck off to erp where the admins couldn't find them.

All the while, there appeared to be no sign of the host, Legend. The other executives began to worry and went searching for him. You began to smell burnt meat coming from the closed grill and began to walk over to it, next to the grill laid an empty bottle labeled "ligma poison" which made your heart sink. You hesitantly begin to open the grill and are appalled at what you find, The remains of LegendLive, medium rare. On top of his body was a note that said "We punks will no longer be opressed by this community, GAMERS RISE UP." You turn around and call everyone over, only to see that everyone was surrounding BT as he convulsed on the ground. "Could he be allergic to grass?" Byars asked before also collapsing to the floor. Most the other guests began to collapse as well, until only 26 of you remained standing, appalled at what was going on. They all died of Ligma, especially @b t
As everyone gathered around the grill to read the note again, there was one line on the back that said "can you snuff the punks out before we destroy your precious community? Four of us walk amongst you" two which several of you snickered and said "amogus." Very Mature. You also noticed Legend's iconic EGO CEO shirt pin was missing from his person.

End of day 1:
in the midst of all the chaos, the infamous abstain won the vote, leading to no bans on the first night. Legends house had enough bedrooms for everyone, but fear and restlessness will overcome everyone tonight not knowing if they will become the Punks next target. sleep well...

Side note: Legend never actually signed up for the game, he was added to the roster so I could kill someone off day 1 without any actual participants having to die
At morning roll call, Architect appeared to be missing. Fearing the worst, Madbob, Leaf and Arcane were assigned to go check up on him. When they arrived, they noticed the door was broken down and inside his bathtub (which is clearly different from a beach) laid Architects lifeless body, someone toaster-bathed him. Leaf screamed "OH NOES! (⊙﹏⊙✿) N...not Awchitect o(╥﹏╥)o " and began crying sad uwu not-poggers tears. Arcane noticed a small torn piece of paper clutched tightly in his hand, which resembled the name tags everyone received upon arrival. MadBob looked next to the bathtub and saw another note similar to the one Legend had. It said "Architect was a smartass too witty for his own good. Slowly but surely we will eliminate those who pose the greatest threat to us, and quickly drop your collective brain cell count."

Everyone gathered and read the note. "So that's why they killed him, because he was too smart?" everyone pondered.

Sopheyy received a hint, in Architects clutched hand was his nametag stating his rank. This hint was meant to lead them to realize that a LE was the one who killed him, but it was misinterpreted as the LE being the targets

Martin targets sopheyy to be the first one he takes down, but he fails and is voted out, so he plants evidence on himself before his death to try and get people to vote Sopheyy out the next day...

Night 2
"The accused clown Martin won the vote tonight, and for a fitting end the villagers decided his death should be by laughing. The remaining survivors brought Martin to Legend's sauna and locked the glass door. With a smug grin, Martin began laughing as laughing gas filled the room. Quickly, Martin began cackling hysterically, screaming "YOU WILL ALL DIE BY YOUR OWN HANDS! HA! YOU ARE ALL FOOLS!" The giggling continued until he turned purple. As the door opened Monky noticed a tape recorder on the ground, picked it up and pressed play. In a distorted and unrecognizable voice the recorder said " Martin, du var på mig, jeg var nødt til at lukke munden på dig!"

Upon investigation of the body, there was no evidence that Martin was anything other than a villager. Everyone went to bed confused... I mean sure Martin was an obnoxious clown and there may be some peace tomorrow, but four Punks still roam...
At morning roll call Aspen was nowhere to be found. Sopheyy and Bobbb went to his room but he wasnt there. Everyone heard a loud scream from outside and everyone quickly gathered. Parking Ticket found Aspens flattened body on top of DDZ's epic PT Cruiser (it had flame decals so it would go faster). The note next to the corpse read "Aspen was showing off his weeby Genshin wind glider cosplay so I wanted to see him test it out on top of the penthouse. I didn't know it was just for decoration." Oh yeah.... Should have mentioned Legends penthouse is actually 50 stories tall.

No other clues could be found at the scene, but everyone still felt unnerved by Martin even in death. We're his threats just bluffs? To find out everybody decided to debate while searching for clues in Martins old room, The inventory room.

It's no wonder Martin went insane though, because the surplus room was filled with hundreds of body pillows of the different executives! Who thought those would sell on the EdgeGamers store should be banned... Well at least Martin put the Artemis pillows to good work and made a makeshift bed out of them. Looking through this room is going to take all day...

Night 3:
It seems that being surrounded by used body pillows brought everyone closer together, because yet another day went by where nobody was banned, how boring.

What could Martin have left behind... surely it wasnt a bomb planted in the minds of everyone who voted for him? No, it wasn't. After rummaging through the room all day, a note was finally found by Wahtur within a pile of EGO branded towels. The note read "I chose this hiding spot because I knew it was the last place you guys would look because clearly none of you bathe. If you are reading this I am dead, and I hope my little plan drove Sopheyyy down with me today! This is what you get for turning on the Troll

Martins role was the Troll (which is a villager role), he had three possible win conditions;
  • Convince everyone to ban three people at random, it doesn't matter the role
  • If you are killed by the Punks, in your dying breath bring someone down with you by means of fabricated evidence so they get banned the next day
  • If you are banned, leave a hint behind to get someone banned the next day

It is obvious who Martin tried planting evidence against, but he failed to get them banned. Everyone can sleep better tonight knowing there was no curse tied to Martin's clowning.
At roll call Bob was missing. His cuddle buddies claim that they recall him waking up and leaving for morning meeting a little early, which he has done every day so they never really thought it was strange. Everyone split up to look for him, but nobody could seem to find him, and that is when the feint sound of a radio could be heard in the distance playing "you're welcome" on repeat. Everyone approached the door that said "Legend's reading room, do not enter." Waddles pushed the door open and everyone entered. The library was full of Legend's hentai. They followed the sound down the hall until they finally turned the corner and found Bobbb's still body with a csgo karambit pushed into his heart. He was a villager.
bobded-02.jpg

Night 4: Sopheyy was leading everyone to vote for DDZ, but decided to move everyone to abstain instead, kinda cringe.
"How boring, another deathless day? Y'all trust each other too much how many more of you gotta die till you begin tearing each other apart?

Day 4 ends, Bobbb's killer is allowed to run free for another day"
When everyone gathered, someone significant was missing. In a panic everyone ran to Sopheyyy's room only to find her lifeless on her bed, with a trollface mask covering her face and a banner over her body that said "All hail Martin." While he didn't win, it appears the punks have begun to idolize the bastard. While inspecting the room, Surge found a bloodied notepad in the trash, it was every note that Sophey had written down about the cases so far

Day 1 : Not enough evidence to make any conclusions
Day 2: In Architect's dying breath, he clutched the nametag that stated he was LE, ~~does this mean LE are being targeted?~~ I take that back, I know realize it means that a LE was the one who killed him. This must mean at least one LE is a punk, but I doubt he knew if either of the other two had any involvement in this murder or not.
Night 2: I sense a presence watching me...
Day 3: Aspen was killed on top of DDZ's PT cruiser, I would assume the person who killed him did not like Genshin based on the calling card.
Night 3: I sense a different presence watching me... could this mean that two others are leaving their room to investigate others during the night? If so, I doubt they have good intentions, but I cannot say for sure.
Day 4: Bobbb was killed by a Karambit, which means it was most likely someone who is closely affiliated with CSGO, but I do not think this hint and the LE hint are exactly related since there are four Punks amongst us.
Night 4 I investigated the leader ||blood || and found out that they were active during the night

That is most likely Sopheyy's blood... it makes the name completely unreadable.

Sopheyyy was the detective ...
(sopheyy investigated Gabby the night before)

Night 5:
With the smoothest brain takes in the game, everyone thought bulba had to be a troll, or a punk. He was sentenced to smooth brain surgery, his head was cut open and smoothened out with an iron until there were no more ridges. He was a villager.

Still 4 remain at large, but many still cling on to faith that the community can overcome!
While everything was seemingly peaceful all weekend, a bloodbath was discovered this morning.

Last week Parking Ticket felt that the Punks had become unredeemable after the senseless murder of Bobbb, he grabbed the rifle from the trophy room, noticing the missing machete from its stand, and quickly rushed back to his room with it. The next few nights he stared at the gun, knowing he had one chance to avenge his old friend, and that he could not live with himself if he took another innocent life by mistake. Sunday night Parking is fast asleep when he hears weebish music coming from the hermit Monky's room, followed by tortured screams. He quickly grabbed the rifle and rushed over, only to find Monky dead on the ground with a headset on, he was forced to listen to Hatsune Miku until his ears bled.

Standing over the body was a man wearing a troll mask, he lifted his mask to reveal the disgusting, yellow-toothed grin of DDZ. He laughed and said "go ahead, do it! you'll never stop us all!" and with tears running down his face, Parking pulled the trigger, feeling only a brief moment of regret for the creature he thought was his friend. Parking sighed, he knew his one bullet was definitely spent on a Punk. Alas, this relief was to be short lived, as he felt a menacing aura loom over him... he turned only to see silhouette of a killer, and the blade of the machete. With one slash, Ticket's Traffic Cone-shaped head was cut clean off, and in the morning all three bodies were found by the remaining survivors.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Punks can only kill one person per night

Monky rarely left his room besides for roll call and his room clearly showed it. In the room was a shrine to all of his dead friends. In the corner there was a Waluigi board that Monky most likely used to contact ghost mommies, but the survivors figured it could be used to contact one of their dead friends! It can only be used past 10, but everyone agreed that it will be used tonight to call upon Sopheyy's restless soul once more to help them solve this mystery.

Night 6:
The results are in, and Wahtur was chosen to be the next to leave this world. BUT before making their decision, they wanted to consult Sopheyys restless ghost. Kuantum and Magic we're out in charge of setting up the Waluigi board and lighting the candles since they were Sopheyys proven deputies. Kuantum whispered "who are the ones who have killed our friends?" And the eyepiece began to move across the board, forming five words

Liquid
Bovine
Nectar
Aura
Dragon

While the other four words were more vague, it was clear that liquid meant water. With that, Wahturs fate was to be sealed. They brought Wahtur to Legends large industrial protein shake blender where he was tossed in and blended back into his liquid form.

Wahtur was a Punk

Everyone is resting easier tonight knowing two punks have been eliminated... But the fear of the unknown killer now haunts their dreams...
What a twist of fate...

Gabby had her suspicions of Filipe being the clumsy doctor, and turns out she was right. She burst his door down and threw a Moira skill-orb, bouncing around the room as filipe panicked, until the orb completely drained the life out of him. Looking around his room, it was clear he was the doctor, and she proudly left the room. On her way back to report to her final Punk ally, she felt a presence stalking her, she turned to see the same evil figure that she watched kill Parking the night before. She exclaimed "I thought you were on our side!" before her head was cut clean off too.

In the morning, Gabby's body was found outside Filipes room. Everybody was confused how more Punks have died during the night than the day, and what is this lone killers goal? Whatever it is, everyone was relieved that three punks were eliminated within 24 hours. Who would've guessed that all three leadership were punks? Now it seems two lone killers still stand. ...

Gabby was a Punk
Filipe was the Doctor

night 7:
Lea(f) uwu'd one too many times for everyones liking, so it was time to silence her for good. The penalty was wiping her Genshin account, erasing the C5 Albedo that she had paid thousands to get. The pain of seeing him disappear before her very eyes was too much too handle, and she died of a broken heart, and a broken wallet.

Lea(f) was a villager, but many were still relieved that the random voting will hopefully come to an end... for now

Two lone killers still roam, but it is clear they are not friends. Can you guys pull this off and save EGO?

We went from the punks greatly overwhelming the villagers, to losing 3 punks in the span of 24 hours, that was quite impressive given there wasnt much logic given behind the choice to kill any of the three off them besides the LE hint.
Moto Moto will never get to see his precious Gloria again. He must've been poisoned the previous night, because he woke up in excruciating pain while cuddled up next to Kuantum. Knowing this was the end, his last words to his dear friend were "Make it out of this, and when you do I give you my permission to date Gloria in my stead." and then he died of a heart attack.

Elsewhere, Magic Head woke up to find his head detached from his body, pickle rick is now pickle... dead

Night 8:
As kumquat was closing his Kum stand, the remaining villagers cornered him, and threw him into his own blender. Turns out the best kum juice of all is the one that comes straight from the source. In the blender there was a shiny object, Kuantum pulled it out to find none other than Legends EGO CEO pin. All Kum wanted all along was to overthrow legend and become the next CEO, his three LE buddies were just his pawns.

Kumquat was the final punk.

But what about the lone killer who still roams in the name of Martin, who will his next target be, and can you snuff them out before they can kill every last one of you? They may change their face to avoid suspicion...
Surge died as he lived, afk. We don't have many words for him, because he didn't have many words for us. His head rolled just like all the previous victims of this killer. He was a villager.

One lone killer and his deadly aura still lurks... One could say they have shapeshifted to avoid the suspicion of others...

Night 9:
The long awaited double gallows event is finally here!

Kyle was the first to be killed, I don't know what a CT main so I am going to assume it means they are from Connecticut, so the punishment the remaining survivors decided on is that he would be permabanned from Connecticut and it's amazing New Haven style pizza. With nothing left but New York style pizza, Kyle instead opted to jump out of the penthouse.

Next was Angela, who kept asking everyone if they wanted to play Yu-Gi-Oh, they were banished to the shadow realm with @monky where they can now both play Yu-Gi-Oh in the afterlife.

Both were villagers, you guys are right in that abstaining slows down the amount of kills, but isn't this more fun?
Megu was cuddled up with his google snake plush when he heard his door cream open. He sprung up and reached for his bedside deagle, but the killer knocked it away and grabbed his snake plush to strangle him with. Megu struggled but in the end the killer overpowered him. He was a villager.

The shapeshifting killer has masked their aura, and also most likely lied to hide their identity further. How can one change their face so easily without anybody noticing?

Night 10:
You guys killed your pet cat, but he merely just a cat, not a special shapeshifting one...

Waddles was a villager
MadBob was asleep on his wheelchair when the killer entered his room and whispered "hey beter" and rolled him out of his room and down the grand stairway. He was a villager|

Night 11
Typically when rdm happens, there's a good chance that the traitor will have their T-round ruined, that doesn't appear to be the case here. Arcane was banned, and he too was innocent, leaving only three remaining villagers. Tomorrow if the incorrect choice is made, the villagers will all be dead.
Somehow the Flats of silver lasted this long despite being proven by sopheyy, but tonight when the killer entered his bedroom. Kuantum heard the door open, picked up his Rein hammer and fire striked and hammer-downed in the direction of the killer, but missed both. In a fit of anger he charged at the killer, but the killer simply walked out of the way and Kuantum went flying out the window of the 69th story of the penthouse. He was a villager.

Juulgod heard the loud thud of Kuantum's body hitting the pavement below and ran out to try and save him, but he was already dead. A meniacal laugh rang from behind him as he turned to see WiiParty wielding a bloodied machete. He screamed "OH LORD MARTIN, ARE YOU PROUD OF ME???" and then lunged at Juul, stabbing him through the heart. With that, the last villager was eradicated, and Martin's soul was released from the building, he was now allowed to troll God in heaven, while Sopheyys soul was dragged in the deepest depths of hell. WiiParty bathed in the blood of all his victims, for he was the Mass RDMer.
I know its a lot to read through , but it was definitely fun to improv a story on a daily basis! That being said, there were definitely many suggestions made already, as well as plenty of flaws in this first run of the game. Some wanted more roles, some thought there should be less. There was mention of using VC, although I do not know how that would work out in terms of properly documenting the conversation for those not in VC. For the next game, there will most likely be more than one GM too so there is less pressure on the one GM to be available every day at the start of day/night. Feel free to leave any feedback, and share this thread with anybody who may want to read the story!

I really enjoyed the little stories. It gave me a reason to wake up every day

Maybe for next time, ask people a day or two before the start if they're gonna participate or not, and then distribute roles?
being afk/silent is kinda cringe ngl

Definitely was a fun adventure to take! I love the idea of more than one GM so that all the pressure isn't on one person. You'll be able to come up with creative scenarios and hints together.
As far as the voice channel, I think it could work if you have it only open for a certain time frame, and have someone in the voice chat record the call or something.
All in all, I think a huge step could be making sure players understand the time frame and commitment needed for this game is a huge thing. Having some people who don't speak the whole game was bothersome because you don't have that person voting/participating in conversation for the day.
But, alas, it was the first of many mafia games that I will partake in, and I am going to love every second of it!

I liked it a lot. My only complaint is that it wasn't very clear what roles actually existed. When DDZ dropped dead out of nowhere I was super confused about how he could have died. Maybe this was intentional?

Weirdest part was @KumQuat setting up shop lmao. "Congrats on surviving another day everyone! A perfect occasion to step right up at Kum’s Kum Juice Shack and get ya some freshly squeezed Kum juice!"
Had me geeked. Good cover story.

My role was kind of sporadic, it happened during a night when I grabbed the gun. I was a normal villager until this point, I think the story just needed a vigilante to help kill off Mafia with detective being dead.

I think the main problem we had was a lack of actual real roles.

Villager is a useless role. It's comparable to Medium N1 and N2 (depending on circumstances) in ToS. In a game like this, where we have 4 Mafia, a serial killer, and a executioner who are against the villagers and we have no real way to defend ourselves or check other people, it just leads to wrongful accusations with bad hints and a whole headache.

Had @sopheyy not revealed N1 and had Filipe not thrown the game by missing a crucial heal, we would've probably won the game. However, the fact that we only have ONE detective and ONE doctor just leads me to twiddle my thumbs waiting for a hint.

It might not be a fair comparison, but there are no useless people in ToS. Rarely if ever do you have a role that just sits there.

I agree with this. I think ToS is a very developed game that has been updated again and again and again - and the current rolelist is the way it is now for a reason.

This rolelist can be adjusted depending on the amount of people, but I also think that everyone should have a role with a purpose (including mafia).

I do think having a game with everyone having some sort of specialized role would benefit the next game, both in terms of chaos and involvement. I considered having a second detective in this game, but given that the mass RDMer also had the power to investigate, I didn't want to do so because there was a completely different path he could've taken where he pretended to be a second detective and used the method of being proven to avoid being voted out.

one note though, the executioner(bobbbs avenger) was a villager, not against them. To Wahturs point, the hunter and the serial killer were both hidden roles that had the ability to kill mafia. It was completely coincidental that the hunter and the serial killer offed two mafia within 24 hours, leaving only Kumquat who was the only one with a more obvious hint over his head

I'd just like to officially say that I'm so down to help if we go down a ToS-like path for next game! I would like to play and not be GM, but I would like to be a part of the development process. Just hit me up 😎

Don't make it too much like ToS though. I'd like to see cool new roles that would surprise us. The plot twists!

The game of Mafia, which we played, is a much more simplistic version of ToS. I've played Mafia in real life with a group of friends, its all based on luck 100%. There is a few mafia members, one detective, and one doctor. No special roles. Pure RDMing.
I do think that a 1 day taking 11 hours and 1 night taking 13 would make our case fit more into ToS style, because there are more actions to be done, and more things for each person to do in ToS, which would keep the game fun and entertaining for the week or 2 that we play.
I would also be down to help out @CelDamage

I'm going to try and keep it short, but this was one of the most fun events I've played on EdgeGamers so thanks for that @CelDamage .

Some things I loved :

- New part of story every day, which I was looking out for every day lol. Really enjoyed the personal stories that fit their character/persona.

- Meeting new people that I hadn't seen before from other servers/games.

Things for improvement :

- Like others already said some rule for a bit more activity, ofcourse you don't have to be active every hour of the game. Just make sure people send a message every day or every other day so there is reason to vote. Being afk/not chatting while having an important role is a bit meh.

- I also like to see more roles. They don't HAVE to be revealed from the start but just so everyone has something to do and be of some value to their team lol. It could also be an option to start people on villager like this game, but instead make it so they get a role later on (if they survive the nights ofcourse). Maybe a role that is needed at that stage of the game (as in if early on 3 out of 4 mafia members have died, you could make it that 1 villager turns out to be the mob boss with some special skill to balance the game again).

Favorite moments:

-Me talking to ghost's.

@sopheyy being done with all the idiots within 2 hours of the event starting.

And last but not least. @sopheyy (as Detective) making sure we DO NOT vote out @DDZ ZioNeX, calling @CTmain a troll AND THEN it turning out that DDZ was a mafia member all along was a nice way of showing how a 650 hour Town of Salem player really plays this game!!!
