Counter-Strike Not Planned New TTT roles

Good evening,

I would like to make a suggestion to add new roles to the TTT Plug In.

While playing TTT on Pavlov VR, I noticed new roles that enhanced the game in many ways. Here, I have listed the multiple roles:

Lone Wolf: The Lone Wolf has one responsibility and one responsibility only, KILL EVERYONE. This includes Innocents, traitors, and detectives.

Survivor: Players who have been assigned this role are tasked with healing their fellow innocents while in combat

Mercenary: Players who have been assigned this role are innocent, but they can supply themselves or other innocents with T gadgets like M4A1-s, Trip wire, Heavy (replace red color with green to identify if the heavy is a T or not)

Glitch: Players who have been assigned this role are just normal innocents. But to the eyes of the terrorist, the Glitch is one of them. This creates confusion between the terrorist's and leads to a sabotage of their plans.

Joker/Jester: Players who have been assigned this role have one goal in mind, to throw the round. The way they win the round is buy kill one innocent without shooting. Whether that is with a grenade or neutralized by any innocent or detective.

With these new roles in mind, game play on the TTT server will be more eventful, chaotic, and out right enjoyable. I would like the Leadership team of Counter strike to take these idea into consideration as the TTT server is still younger brother to Jailbreak.

i think instead of having all of these go on at once it would be nice to create a new custom round that randomly selects something out of this list and applies it, that way there's less chaos and potential RDM
 
instead of a custom round, a select few can be added per round. One round could have Lone Wolf and Joker/Jester, then the other could be Mercenary and The Glitch. If implemented though, It could start off with having one custom round just so players can get used to the new roles
 
I actually made a suggestion similar to this based off roles in Pavlov VR.

But I will say, some if not most of these would probably change the TTT gameplay too much.

As GamingByTheMinute GamingByTheMinute mentioned, a lot of these changes would completely change the dynamic of TTT, which is something we do not want to do. Adding them as a custom round may be a good option, but as a general every-round addition, they change too much. TTT itself is a simple gamemode with simple base mechanics, we do not want to change those base mechanics drastically.

Refer to 2nd post: I maybe every round with all of those options are a bit overkill, but distributing these new roles between new rounds should be at the least tested. First with the server specialists on dev.
 
If people like this suggestion (as well as the earlier one by GamingByTheMinute), I'll look into adding some of these roles to custom days. Likely, there'll be a certain % chance of a custom day happening, with a random amount of these roles enabled. To address the individual roles however:

Not really a fan of this one, it's quite literally just running around shooting everyone in sight, which is in actuality very easy to do without getting killed. Overpowered and too easy to win.

Detective already has the ability to purchase a health station, which can already be used as a form of healing for Innocents. Not sure how you would like the survivor to be implemented, a heal gun? can get healthshots for cheap/free with a delay? everyone around them gets healed? Would need to be pretty carefully balanced.

Mercenary: Players who have been assigned this role are innocent, but they can supply themselves or other innocents with T gadgets like M4A1-s, Trip wire, Heavy (replace red color with green to identify if the heavy is a T or not)
Great idea, however as an Innocent they shouldn't have access to the entirety of T shop. Tripwires, Jihad, C4, and any other item that can kill teammates is out of the question.

Good idea! Although something will have to be figured out on what Traitors do when they suspect someone of being the Glitch. If they're allowed to just kill them, it could lead to RDM (and a lot of it). If they aren't, then the round wouldn't end.

No. A) too easy to happen, B) griefs, C) interferes with base and other larger roles too much.

If TTT were to be changed I’d recommend the idea is thought out sufficiently, it kinda seems like we’re just throwing shit at the wall and seeing what sticks.

Sad thing about that is most of it sticks, but you’ll regret doing it pretty quick.
 
blank_dvth blank_dvth Thank you for taking this into consideration. I think if we implement some of these roles, TTT could bring a lot more attraction in the community.

P.S. I think that the Lone Wolf would be excellent because of having one person in the server to be tested and see if he could wipe the whole server in one round, it also gives a chance for T's and Innos to work together to find out who the "Lone Wolf" is. In the case of "The Glitch", certain phrases such as; "why did you kill him over there?", or "buy me a M4" is reasonable suspicion and enough for a clean kill. As for the mercenary, Limit the Item shop to M4, Heavy (switch color of the heavy), and maybe poison gun. I also like the Idea of a health gun, the survivalist could also carry a med kit which could restore his own health back to 100%.

Finally, I understand the "custom day" idea, I just think that having at least one custom day per map isn't fair for players to experience the new roles. Some players already have the struggle to becoming the traitor for only one round per map. I think it would be better for every round to include a certain role. It could change the way the game is played and have multiple possibilities.

This has potential, but a lot of combat in TTT is pretty fast-paced as the goal is to get kills without much resistance (eg, going for headshots). I don't think there is any good way to adapt this role as it stands to our TTT environment.
I would consider a role that has benefits only for themselves, such as spawning with green heavy armor.

I like this. Would probably require the T ratio to be buffed as a counterbalance though.
