Tech Update: February - June!
PROMOTIONS
@PixeL
Pixel has proven to be an incredible asset to both the Tech Team and the CS leadership team by using his technical knowledge in any niche of EdgeGamers he can. Especially thriving in our surf server development, PixeL has tackled issues and bugs at an alarming rate. We are happy to have PixeL as our latest Tech Leadership member. PixeL will be continuing to work with CS servers to ensure issues are handled and addressed punctually and thoroughly.
@jii
jii has an extensive history in system administration and has shown themselves to be a standup tech member in insight, work ethic, and maturity. His application was one of tech's quickest thanks to his fast and quality development work. We are glad to see jii join us in our tech rankings, and look forward to see future work from him soon.
@Custom Stats
CustomStats has made a return from his extended hiatus from education. He has already started to fill in the gaps and glue that was missing across our lesser focused servers. His previous knowledge about our CS Servers, experience as a former Counter-Strike Community Manager, and intimate development knowledge made us very happy to see his application in our pool. Please welcome CustomStats back with warm arms.
AWARDS
In an effort to recognize all the hard work that goes on behind the scenes, that the community may not be able to realize, Tech Leadership would like to give out the following awards to our members, and those who interact with the Tech Team on a daily basis.
Diamond Commendation - Pixel
Once again, we'd like to award Pixel the Diamond commendation to recognize and thank PixeL for his continued efforts from within Tech Team. We look forward to the work you will do in the future!
Handy-Man

Left has proven to be a great resource and help for our CS KZ server, and as thanks, we'd like to award him with a Handy-Man award. Thank you Left!

Seems crazy to have a Tech LE member not have a Handy-Man award, but in addition to this technicality, PixeL has surely proven himself to be quite handy in various aspects of Tech.
FEBRURARY - JUNE RECAP
Website
The main forums have received slight tweaks here and there for all to enjoy. The main page no longer crops out the beautiful art made by our Media Team, prefixes were tidied up for the Suggestions and Bug Reports, and Ban Contests were renamed to Ban Appeals. We've been working slowly but surely to make the forums the best that they can be!
We've moved some of the specialty team applications over to a new Applications section of the forums. This new method helps our leadership team manage, view, and interact with applicants across all our specialty teams and divisions.
Discord
Discord Development server and process is in the works, so look forward to seeing new changes to our discord be pushed out at a quick and sustainable rate.
CS
We are slowly migrating some of our servers back to our old Docker setup.
We currently have JB and TTT running on the new system and are preparing to migrate several other servers in the coming months.
We've changed the way changelogs are handled internally, and soon will begin automatically publishing them when server updates are pushed.
A lot of behind-the-scenes work was put in since our last newsletter, and overall our servers are much healthier tech-wise as a result of it.
Because of this, we'd like to give a huge shoutout to @jii and @Custom Stats for their hard work!
With the revisions to the old/new Docker setup, we've also updated how we do updates. Pushing updates is now much more streamlined, with internal tracking made easier, and public changelogs automatically being posted. Servers will now restart when there are minimal players to minimize gameplay interruption.
We're continuously working on our backend system and moving boxes to optimize our servers.
GTA

We also want to give a quick shoutout to @GardenGroveVW and the rest of the GTA development and leadership team for experiencing great success in the last few weeks in RP, player-count, and stability! If you haven't yet joined the server and seen the work that has been getting put into providing the best roleplay experience possible, you should!
We are also working directly with @Oblixion to consolidate GTA's development team and Tech team into a more unified division.
Minecraft
Continued work on Events server, we hope to push new events, as well as bring back old events that the community has suggested.
Bedrock Support is now in Alpha stages. Look forward in the coming days to being able to join our Survival server on your PC, Console, Tablet, or Phone!
Introduced two new crates, look forward to finding out how to obtain these new mythical and godly keys...
TF2
Brought back many different old TF2 awards from the grave, which are now available to be given out by TF2 leadership.
Continued investigation on multiple bugs on Hightower.

Future Plans
One of Tech's biggest goals for the future is to ensure that all of our supported games have great implementations and perks for becoming a Dedicated Supporter, especially at the higher tiers. We want to work with game leadership to provide a non-pay2win, balanced reward system as thanks for supporting EdgeGamers!
