Ultrakill is incredibly fast paced, super satisfying, has amazing combat, a great art style, nearly infinite playstyles, good mechanics, interesting maps, funny developers, and the voice actor of Gabriel is also a V-tuber of Gabriel. It's legitimately one of the best games I have ever played. Top 5, probably.

"Would be a dis-service to not give it 5/5 stars"
I think Ultrakill captures the essence of what makes games like Doom and Quake successful. It does a great job of showing there’s more to single player games than a good story. They implement basic ideas to introduce you to the genre, then never let you get bored, always introducing another nuance or feature that progresses you from the basics to being the killing machine that they want you to be. Things like dashes, slides, melee attacks, quickly become parries, rocket jumps, gauss line ups, and coin flips. It’s a challenging game, and does it in a way that no other game really has yet

I enjoy the game because its challenging and in my opinion harder than doom. The shop system, boss fights, weapons, and arena game-mode is what 1-ups doom. There is sooo much replay value within Ultrakill, so I doubt you wont come back to it and since it receives regular updates you'll probably end up seeing new content each time. I thoroughly enjoy the game.

Honestly the violent difficulty is my favorite part about Ultrakill right now and getting the "Perfect" rank (highest rank per level) is insanely satisfying. If I were to describe it, I'd say its like doom meets a soulslike game. I think you can get an estimate of how challenging the game can be with a description like that. The difficulty is the beauty of the game, the type of challenge where I feel satisfied and accomplished once I complete a level.
