One of the best things I've always taken from gaming online is meeting and chatting with foreign gamers. They never fail to amaze me as so many of them seem to speak English fluently to the point that I often assume they're from the States. I've had the good fortune to have made real friends and have met a couple as I've traveled abroad. I think that has to be the best part of it all.
