Just login to the forums every now and then... You should technically be checking either way. Not had a single issue before (even while I was inactive).

simply logging in DOES NOT WORK. ive been saying this for over a year now and no one does anything about it.

also i want to be on this forum as little as possible. its out of date and imo a waste of time

also also ive was logged into the forum less than 3 days before my event.

The system works as expected for effectively everyone else, so if you're encountering an issue with it, it's likely specific to you (environment, usecase, etc.). If you're able to consistently reproduce it as you say, gather information (screenshots, timestamps, etc.) then file a formal bug report.

It is known that detections may take a while sometimes (which is quite noticeable when you need to bring your status back from inactive → active); log in more frequently (rather than right at the limit of the activity period) to avoid this.

The activity requirement exists because it's an expectation of our admins to be actively checking/monitoring the forums (as well as as a security measure, I believe). If you have further questions about this, please contact me.

typical "welp it only affects you, womp womp. figure it out yourself" response i get from everyone. maybe it shouldnt take over an hour after posting to get reverified. i feel like a broken record saying this but simply logging in does not work. i log on to the forums weekly and only post when i need to. to force me to post some bs post just to get verified is dumb. it fills the forums with posts that dont add anything to the community.

I'm merely stating that in reply to your "IT DOES NOT WORK" and "no one does anything about it". Considering that it functions as expected for the significant majority, the likelihood of the issue being specific to you (or caused in some form by your specific usage pattern) is extremely high; expecting someone to "do something about it" when there's no formal report, [reproducible] information to go off, or any evidence that suggests that such an underlying issue may even exist in the first place (again: it seems isolated to you in some form) is unreasonable. I'm not claiming no such problem can ever exist (nothing's perfect), but regularly complaining "it's broken" (and nothing else) is not the right way to go about it.

If you're maintaining an active status (meaning logging in with margin before the 1-week timeout, rather than on/after), logging in should more than suffice. Inactive → Active can take time, as you've said (which is why maintaining is recommended), but a post should still generally not be necessary everytime (if it is, see above on reporting); however, you should not be regularly reaching the inactive state anyhow, as again, logging in regularly (and monitoring where relevant) is generally an expectation for admins (one that's been increasingly relaxed, but still one).
