Question about ssd

Hey all, its been a very LONG time since I've posted anything. So I have a gaming laptop that I'd like to install an M.2 as a secondary drive. The laptop itself is a Lenovo Legion. The primary storage is 500 gb, but as we all know, that's never enough storage, especially for a gamer. However, because of the current economy, ssd's aren't exactly cheap right now. The current purpose of getting a secondary drive is split purpose (gaming/dj'ing). So I'm currently looking at getting myself a 2tb ssd, but I'm wondering if I should wait until later on (maybe say Black Friday time). However, in the past, even Black Friday deals haven't been the best. So please let me know what the best brands are for ssd technology. I'm definitely not in a big rush to get one, but also definitely on a student budget as well.

Not sure if you are a prime member (believe you can get a free trial) but I do know Amazon prime day is coming up in the middle of July, there might be some solid deals then. Not 100% but I do know Microcenter (if you have one near you) has solid deals overall and I have personally bought their "Inland" brand and can attest to never having an issue on my PC or PS5. Hope this helps!

Prices for storage are actually quite low imo, 2TB m.2's were in the upper 100s low 200s a year ago and now theyre mid to low 100s WD https://www.ebay.com/itm/296136138926 or samsung EVOs are good as well

edit: basically anything that isn't str8 off aliexpress is fine, ssds are alot more less suspectable to failures compared to HDDs.

I know I'm late to the party, but I would recommend hitting up Microcenter.

I work for an IT company and we absolutely love shopping there.

The rest are pretty much crap unless you're using them for enterprise-grade purposes such as servers. If you are, this is not the place to ask for recommendations. The above is my recommendation. I've been building and running servers for about 20 years, and trust me, those are the best.
