CS2 Announcement: Trouble in Terrorist Town Will Open Tonight!

TTT has finally made it's return! On behalf of EdgeGamers, and everyone who contributed towards the launch of TTT, we are ecstatic to bring everyone's favorite server back!

Going Live at 7PM EST ON July 6th 2024!
connect ttt.edgm.rs

Features
10+ Maps (Including 2 Night Versions of maps)

Things to Expect
For those who have done any recent testing for TTT, you may have noticed that seeing who your Traitor Teammate(s) is slightly more difficult than it was back in CSGO, a better and more viable solution will be figured out in the future
For those who don't know, the current way to identify your Traitor Teammate(s) is by having to look at them similar to this :

T Rooms are currently DISABLED (NOT permanent)
No !shop (NOT permanent)

While we know it's not currently as polished as CSGO TTT, we hope you enjoy it just as much. Expect updates and improvements in the future

Make sure to check out the TTT Server, and make sure you're following our Code of Conduct, and If you find any bugs please report them here so we can get updates out ASAP!!

Two cents, its not ready, and this is a mistake. My personal stance is I'd rather have it later and ready than now and not ready. Things are still very fundamentally broken.

We are playing it right now and I can tell you, this is the best that you are going to get from a TTT server anywhere for right now. Tech has pushed everything to the limit of what they can do for the server FOR NOW, we can't compare csgo servers to our now new cs2 servers. Tech and the CS team will find ways to make all of our servers better as cs2 keeps getting older.

Perfection is the enemy of good.
I'm not asking for perfection. I'm asking for ready. Core parts of the game mode still are buggy at best.

Now I'm not going to claim that tech hasn't done the best job they can with the tools they have. That doesn't change that from mine and others experience who've played it, think it's not ready, and for some of us, we would rather wait than not. eGO has time. Why push something that is not ready, as ready, instead of utilizing time to provide a better experience.

You don't have to release an alpha and call it a release.
If this is the standard of what is an acceptable experience is, then I'm shocked.
I'm not compairing this to CS:GO. I'm comparing it to TTT as an overall concept. There are fundamentally broken things and its frankly unenjoyable.

Why the rush to deliver a subpar experience when you dont have to?

If it helps, let's widen the scope to new game releases? How many new game releases are sent out now at days before a game is ready and the claim is "we will improve in time". Just wait!

Having just played it, the things that are fundamentally broken or not in place are pretty impactful. I killed a T buddy because I, like many others, are not used to needing to mouse over someone to see if they're a friendly. This changes the entire flow of the game, and make it close to impossible to play off of your Traitor teammates.

Small gripe here as well, while /wp is appreciated, it's not worth having to type it every round. Thankfully, this is entirely cosmetic, and I'm sure it will be improved.

Another minor complaint is weapons missing from the maps currently in rotation; the A4 is a big blow for me personally, since I suck with the AK, but for the T's, losing access to the A1-S is nuts.

The tech team has done an incredible job getting it running at all, but from where I stand, it needed more time. It'll improve over the coming months and years, and undoubtedly surpass what we had before, but I'm with you; it should have been delayed.

Oh, I know. I'm just giving my initial thoughts and perspective.

What you've mentioned, plus it seems there is a problem with the game mode loading improperly somestones and the counter counting backwards in the negative, we can't ID bodies, and detectives just fundamentally feel unable to do anything. It is almost impossible to play TTT with the rules as we have.

This is an alpha experience that was shipped as "Hey its ready", when its not. Just wait for the core game to be ready. Sure, would T Shop and other features we know and love be nice? Yes. But while we love those things I think a lot of people would just prefer we stop doing things like this and say "hey its ready" when it really isn't and destroying what credibility we have.

Core parts of the gamemode are busted and while I know a lot of this is due to the framework tech has to work with, sometimes having something out ISN'T better than having nothing when things are substandard

I've been far removed from the goings-on in the community since December last year, since I'm really here for TTT, so I can't speak to the pattern you describe.

But the basics should've been in place, plain and simple. I don't mean to be inflammatory or an ass about it, but the basics are what made TTT what it was in the first place. It's just not TTT without these things sadly.

I agree. Like I said before. Not asking for perfection, just ready.

What stuff is "broken"?
Just read what I've said and others have corroborated.

DNA scanners (yes the DNA scanner is a bit wonky blame valve).
I'll grant you, If this was new on the release, haven't seen, but tasing still is pretty rough as is, and if that's the only difference between an innocent and a detective that's not really all that much to write home about. But if there is a DNA scanner, that's a plus. There wasn't at least in the playtest I did with spock a few days prior.

Another thing to add, body iding will never be a thing
Then we need to fundamentally rewrite the rules because the basis of how being an innocent plays is heavily reliant on IDing bodies. That's like half of TTT is IDing bodies so you can determine a traitorous act.

Say someone kills someone, by the rules I am NOT allowed to kill them if I don't know the person they killed was NOT a T (I think it says something in chat but frankly it's easy for that to be taken out of context). We need the ability to ID bodies.

Also, I've never seen the counter count backward.
Talk to spock/fatal.

I also find it crazy saying anything about the server when you have not joined the live server.
Look, just giving feedback. I played, and frankly if ur trying to sell me that it's somehow very different from a week ago before release, then I'm sorry but your not only coming at me for no reason but being disingenuous.

Look. I know you guys are working with shoddy at best frameworks with CSS, and this isn't some sort of attack...

we aren't asking for perfection. Just asking for ready; and if this is ready, then it says alot about the standards we are holding ourselves to. it just feels like what we got is TTT only by the loose definition.

4g0tt3nSou1 4g0tt3nSou1 I do appreciate that you have high standards for our servers; it reflects on the bar that we set for our servers, and the level of quality that we strive to aim for. This being said: everything starts somewhere.
I wholeheartedly agree that TTT could be better. I wish to direct you to our CS2 Updates Thread. You will notice that Jailbreak has gotten over 90 updates.

Was it ready when it initially released? Well, clearly someone decided so. You may not believe it was ready then, but perhaps somewhere along those 90+ updates you would agree that it was finally "ready".

At the end of the day we are hosting, developing, maintaining, and encouraging this server to grow. We have done nearly everything that we can to make this gameplay as good as CS:GO's. If you are not satisfied, then that is due to your standards that you have. I appreciate that they are high, but this is neither the proper way to go about expressing them, nor the proper place.

Please keep in mind that what we offer is free. We gratefully accept donations, however, we allow anyone to join our servers. You are not required to join our servers; play them or don't.

At a baby shower you do not insult the bride or the husband. You do not publicly point out that you believe their finances, relationship, living situation, friends, etc. are insufficient. This is a thread to celebrate and appreciate the development and culmination of work.

If you truly want to provide feedback, please do so on our respective Suggestions or Bug Report threads.

I get what you are saying regarding some of the issues, however, I as well as many others are glad to have it back. While it is rather difficult to identify your fellow traitors, a simple solution would be to get used to hovering over people before you shoot (annoying yes but better than nothing). It will be nice to see the server grow and get major updates the same way JB did. I definitely enjoy more people on however, if you do not have fun playing it, do not play yet.

Great work Tech and CS Leadership. We appreciate all you do for us. đź‘Ť
