Announcement: 1.21 Minecraft - Coming Soon!
What an Adventure! The 1.20 Minecraft server was released 1 year ago. So much has happened since then, from build contests to Easter egg hunts to murder mystery! With Mojang’s release of 1.21 it is time for EdgeGamers to prepare its own Survival server for the new mobs, new blocks, and new trials!
What is going to happen and when?
We are planning to take down the 1.20 Survival server and replace it with a new 1.21 Survival server. The exact timing is still being figured out, but we expect to have it done by July 31st.
What is new in 1.21?
If you are not already aware, the biggest change with 1.21 is a new structure called trial chambers. There will be the new mobs: bogged and breeze. You will also find new copper block variants, including the copper bulb, new tuff block variances, and a new crafter block. There are also new items such as the mace weapon, breeze rods, new decorated pots and sherds, new armor trims and banner patterns, new potion effects including the ominous bottles, new music discs, trial keys that open vaults, and new enchantments!
Since we skipped 1.20.5, you will also meet the armadillos and new wolf variants! In addition, you can now craft fashionable wolf armor.
What is going to change about the server?
The crate key rewards will be updated to include some of the new items and blocks. There will be new Quests, including an updated ABC quest-line. To accommodate a brand new start to the economy, you will see the cash rewards and costs reduced compared to 1.20. You will see some renovations done in the spawn, playershops, and Event server. As requested by the community, there will be a change to the grief prevention rules.
What is going to stay the same about the server?
Generally, we are going to keep the location of the various buildings in spawn the same, so that players can avoid having to learn a new layout. The Event server will maintain the same amazing games and events, with only a few renovations.
Will we be able to access our builds from 1.20?
While we cannot support running both 1.20 and 1.21 at the same time, we will save the world file and provide to those who request it.
Will I keep my inventory, weapons, armor, money, McMMO stats?
No, all players will be starting from zero. The only player data that will carry forward is for cosmetics and cosmetic coins.
