Thank you, Spare!
This post may be late, but I believe that gratitude and kindness is always on time. I just found out that
Spare
is no longer our Community Manager representative for Counter-Strike. As now I am simply a member, I wish to express what I know is a shared feeling of gratitude among other members for one of the nicest people in our community.There was a time when we had a vacuum in CS leadership. It would be Spare who was chosen to fill this vacuum and lead the CS LE team and he was the perfect choice. I witnessed Spare's friendly and supportive nature create agreement, calm turbulent exchanges and unified a team because of how he treated people. It was clear that his intent was always genuine and with team and community in mind. His personal ego just didn't exist. Because of how he treated each person no one wanted to say no to him. He inspired loyalty and friendship among his teammates in LE, and along side of them guided CS through the most difficult times of change the game's developers could lay upon the genre. His LE team was so unified and fun loving that I labelled them "The Besties", as they truly behaved as best friends.
Personally, I appreciated his open ear and serious consideration to suggestions and the needs of all of CS, including CS: Source. Together he and his LE team elevated deserving and committed members to join their leadership and admin teams. It was nice seeing regular members promoted because they were deserving and not just because they knew or played with Leadership members. I will always appreciate his trust and time and what he gave to eGO and CS.
I know we all wish him happy fortune in his future endeavors.
