When Atari was king and arcades controlled the gaming universe there were specific games that dominated each gaming theme. In 1980 one of the top war themed games was Battlezone. Clearly the original blueprint for todays World of Tanks it was a surprisingly fun game. The graphics were simple. The movements effective and believable, and it all worked! This absolutely was a thrilling battle between you and the games electronics. Only a faint comparison to what we see today. So maybe this is a "had to be there" moment.
