wrong. go play CSS if you want good UGC communities, you wont find it on S2 w/o a hellscape of bugs until s&box comes out for devs to really get to know s2, and valve is done w/ deadlock and HLX to focus on UGC shit again

Pretty sure I just read that community servers are either buggy/don't work in CS GO.

How do people create servers in CS 1.6? Could we do that in CS GO and pitch in and pay for running it?

The game physics in CS 2 are all fucked, I am not sure what has to be done, but jailbreak on CS GO was perfect, and needed no improvement, other than new maps once in a while.

Has Thorgot tried saving us???

Or the only option really is, just recoding CS 2?

Technically CS:GO can still exist... but Valve has dropped support of CS:GO and basically said, if anything breaks, we aren't fixing it. Also said you'd eventually lose functionality of things that relied on their servers / back end to keep it going. Over time the game may just be unplayable.

Via a post from Santa: "Surf in cs2 is broken and the population died from csgo. We looked at all surf servers for a week and thru all the top servers we saw there weren't many people due to how bad surfing was"

I don't think Valve has ever officially dropped support of 1.6, in fact, it looks like it still gets updates, and the back end / tools to run servers exist. CS2, they don't really exist - it's all still very, very from scratch and a lot of unknowns to it. The programming is so radically different.

RTV was broken when i wrote this post, it was almost a month ago, you would hope they managed to fix it in 3 weeks that it took you to write this response.

It was broken on and off until i last played 3 weeks ago. The fact that you would settle for SOMETIMES is willd. Lets all SOMETIMES enjoy the game.

If a CT has a T agent model in their inventory it would sometimes give it to them while they are on Guard, removing the name above their head making it very confusing who is your teamate.The fact that you havent seen them doesnt mean they dont happen.

Warden tag is visible (see pic)

Warden tag is very buggy and sometimes its not visable, nor is the warden blue when that happens. This screenshot is useless. Its like me me saying the light is flickering on and off, then you taking a picture of it when its on and saying oh but its on look.

Maybe theyve changed it now, no clue. When i tried making a gang it printed out a message that only DS can create gangs.

No idea what this means. As an admin, you have to type /verify every time you rejoin and the map changing for i guess maul to recognise your perms, it also happens if youre an "e" you wont see it until you type /verify. Most of the times its buggy aswell.

Definetly does,but in fairness its not eGOs fault most of the time. CS2 servers are wacky.

First off, who are you to tell me what i can and cannot say about the server or anything else for that matter? I tried to improve it and make it better for 5 years on csgo, i was an active member of this community, thats why they gave me admin, so i can do this more effectivly. Let me give you the rundown of what i did to make it better.

Reported cheaters and excessive rule breakers when i had -e- and -eG- (36 posts in the Report a Player page)
14 suggestion posts
30 Report a Bug posts
10 conctact leadership posts
Joined server specialists and mapping team (the first thing i ever did here is adding clip brushes on ttt_bikinibottom so players dont get stuck on coral reefs, back when Custom Stats was leading the team)
poured 500 hours into learning hammer (tool for map making).
Helped fix TTT and Jailbreak maps over the years
Made my own Jailbreak map jb_donjon (v2 unfortunently never got to the live server)
Was in the process of reworking jb_seascape when CS2 hit and fucked everything up. I still have the trello board in my bookmarks.
Was and still technically am an Admin here and i was willing to sacriface around 1/3 of my time playing so i can make it a better place by spending that time doing admin stuff rather than playing the game.

I considered myself a great admin, evident by the fact that i got promoted from eG to eGO on the very next promotions since i became eG. Was never abusive, toxic or strict. I was one of the more lenient and chill admins here. I let people have fun unless it runied other peoples fun,even when they were breaking rules beacuse thats what the server is for.

What part of this doesnt represent my desire to make this server a better place. If i wanted to **** it up i could have abused my powers and banned everybody, i can still do it, but i dont. Guess why? Beacuse i love this server and the time i spent here. I only want whats best for it.
Also you shouldnt "look up" to anybody.

I can't believe tech still can't sort plugins out after a whole year of CS2. The game bearly works and we have half as many features than we had on csgo.

The server can't keep pop up without Nouille taking the time to gather people for jailbreak fills (thank you for trying to keep it alive)
I get it. Less people play Community servers on CS2 means less people on jailbreak. But you can't tell me there isn't 40 people in the english speaking world who want to play jailbreak.
Server used to be empty only for like two hours in the day before.
Im not from the US, I have a drastically different timezone than you guys, and I even used to play at odd hours and we ALWAYS had people online.

You know your server is dying when the ban appeal page is always empty.

I love jailbreak, I always will. Every other version is just not the same.I played it for 6 years on and off on PG then eGO. I miss that you could have just gotten online and had fun for an hour or two. These days i join every once in a while hoping something had changed for the better, but its just gotten worse.

The point ?
Fix the game and you will have old players come back and new ones join in, until then goodbye.

Not sure when was your last time playing, but there has been minimal perma bans (I mean the ones that remained perma) and that revolved around mainly hacking/ddos/doxxing situations. Everyone else kept getting chance after chance, and so griefers and toxic people kept rampaging the servers till everyone else moved on from all that so eventually now with CS2 made it impossible to have the same level of experience as it was in CSGO (which from a tech perspective is 100% understandable), however it wasn't what made servers severely empty out pre-CS2, the main point where things started looking dreadful for eGO CS as a community. (Plus this is a pretty huge discussion with more reasons on why and what happened and there was a thread here not long ago about it if u search it up)

Now with CS2 it will be a game of chess with a ticking clock tied to it, as the remnants of the community slowly diminish their remaining patience (over CS2 showing some attention to community servers, which hasn't happened yet), so eh...

Funnily enough if i had more time on my hands i would absoloutely apply and start learning sourcepwn and java thats the only other way i know of helping here. But life has priority, can't do everything you want.

Blaming the tech team is not a good take because we clearly have one of the best and most efficient tech team possible. But it’s true that a lot of bugs made this server less fun and kinda killed the aura of CSGO JB had. To be honest, I don’t feel any fun playing JB right now (unless if I play at 4-5am EU timezone maybe but I don’t have this opportunity now). And It’s been a while since CS2 was released so I can understand the frustration of waiting the comeback of the best CS mod and server because I am of the guys waiting for this. However I guess that the tech team made all the best effort to improve the server but it’s just Valve not giving a f to CS2 community servers…

And most of all, don’t forget that all this stuff, this work and this time given is made for free homies

Better yet! If you do not wanna join the tech team for whatever reason, everything related to cs2 (minus maul and some smaller things) are OSS. Jailbreak repo, TTT repo and Gangs repo. You are free to make a pr or report issues with any plugin.
