This thread is gauge interest, inputs, and criticism on changing the tick rate on the CS2 surf server. Currently the server is on the base tick rate of 64, and there are multiple people and many conversations that have led to this being brought up to the entire community. The surf server on CSGO was on a tick rate of 85 which feels far smoother compared to 64 tick. This tick rate is far harder than 85, and many newer players will have a difficult time adapting to this surf compared to CSGO. Personally I support upping the tick rate to 85. I think the smoother surf would retain more of the single time surfers that join the server. We currently do not have any highly competitive surfers within the community (I'm talking record holders on KSF, CSGO, or other competitive CS2 servers). Existing times would not need to be adjusted with this change so if you had a time on a map that you hated. You would not need to redo the map.
