i got a new pc (i am not too smart at comps so i have no idea wha kind it is) and when i play and y game. it laggs and has problems moving. it has the same video card, ram , etc. as my old pc so that can't be it. the only difference is that i have a wireles mouse and keybpard. any help would be great. thx.

make sure theres a direct path to and from keyboard/mouse to the reciever ... some times thats what it is so it looks like it lags on games and desktop
i have no programs running during it. i also have a dirsect path and it dosen't work. oh and the comp is actually diff. but it is better.
Is it running Vista? Or just XP?
Well, do you still have your wired mouse from your old computer? if you do, try plugging it in and checking if that is really the problem, I have had trouble with wireless mice before, so that is why I only ever use wired mice now.
ok so ill try to change my mouse. oh and i found something interesting on my family pc it had 0 choke and on my pc it had 60 choke! also fps on family pc wasabout 40 and on mine it ewas about 12

um ny comp runs fine and fast. its just the game.and yes they r all steam games.

THere are a few things it could be. But you kinda need to tell us the specs of your computer. Or at least the graphics card you are using. And more information like what kind of internet, wireless or hardwire, what kind of router, etc.
Also try changing your display settings around to see if that will work. Or if putting the games in window mode will do anything for you.

wuts window mode, and display settings. MY g card is better than the one on the pc dpwnstairs/

update drivers, card should run it just not HDR, 4x MSAA, and all bells and whistles but should run it fine on medium or low settings fine.
how do i update driver?
ok nvm..it might be my whole pc because its lagging on itunes when i play songs.
if i was you i would take it in to a pctech and have it optomized for gaming.. shouldnt cost more than 75 bucks to do that.

after reading atrys sticky i realized it mite be my g card..... but this is a brand spankin new dell so... i have no clue ask me any ? and ill answer it about my pc
