the thompson shoots so fast, so it may look like it shoots only 1 bullet, but, in reality, it shoot 3 or 4. sometimes it shoot too fast for the server to recognize it and it combines 2.3 shots for 100 dmg
All you can do is remember that the devs 'intended' for DoD to have a lot of 'random' factor to it and couple that with the not-so-great net coding and you get a lot of absurdities. As much as I like the reporting as to where you took damage and where you dealt damage it doesn't feel 100% accurate either. At the end of the day, it's probably best if you shrugged it off and just say, "DoD happened." A fast paced team death-match styled game is what they seem to want.
I overlooked that post stating i should look in the console. I'll keep a closer eye on that in the future. I simply assumed that those stats were accurate, cuz if they're not why are they there?
Maybe damage is indeed randomized. And like i said I'm not making a big out of this it just seemed strange to me that there were so many damage related abnormalities in DoD.
also jay, in those screens you posted you were killed from less than 5 meters, the only thing that can really save your life when youre that close to a thompson is a teammate, unless the guy with the thompson is a horrible aim....
